Crooked Tree Golf Course in Tucson has a traditional layout in a secluded, peaceful location with no homes around the course for miles. The golf course features player-friendly, generous fairways and small greens that are surrounded by ample chipping areas. Located in the Sonoran Desert, there are ironwoods, mesquites, and saguaros situated throughout, providing a beautiful landscape and a relaxing atmosphere. Walkable!
Fairways and greens in good shape, nice layout. Played in 3 1/2 hours.

Decent Course
I typically play here in the winter (January - March). It has it's pros and cons:
Pros: Great practice facility, Decent layout, Greens and Fairways are typically in excellent condition by January, Friendly Staff.
Cons; Cart paths need some serious work, bunkers do have a few rocks here and there so pick them out unless you want to damage a club ... or hit a better shot and avoid them.

Transition taking hold
Even though the dummer and fall have been very warm and dry, the winter rye grass has come in nicely. The greens are still kept a tad hairy, but looked in great shape for cutting tighter as temps cool. The green grass areas play nicely and the dormant Bermuda is typically tight. Traps were very acceptable.

Muni course
It's a muni course with lots of play and notm in the greatest condition. If you ride be sure you don't have loose dentures they may shake out

Needs more work
The course is coming along. Greens were very bumpy and very slow still. After playing Star Pass I could not get the speed down. Pace of play was slow - but it was a Sunday. Give the course some time..and some extra care and it will be good. 52.00 for a round is way to much. I got it for 25.00 which was fine to pay.

Not worth the drive
Its been a year since we've played. Every time we return we know why its only once a year that we play this course. Sand traps aren't sandy, they're rocky. Cart paths are horrible - big potholes and in BAD need of re-paving. If you're off the fairway, the cut is rocks and sandy soil. I keep hoping, at some point, they would put a few dollars into improvements .. alas, they don't...
