Rating 73.7

The Club at Starr Pass offers 27 holes of championship golf that have been host to legends such as Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. One of these combinations is Coyote/Roadrunner. Coyote is the club's signature course and while the Roadrunner nine might be the shortest, it has plenty of elevation changes. Both golf courses are carved from the scenic Tucson Mountains, providing golfers with a diverse landscape that is abundant with jackrabbits, quail, and deer. In addition to the three nines, there is also a double-loaded driving range and a practice area with putting and chipping greens.

Disappointed

Great course layout. But greens are bald, almost no grass to speak of. Clubhouse is undergoing renovations so they have portable restrooms. But they were out of service. Only facilities were at the pool but you needed a pass key to get in and the starter seemed to only have one key. Huge inconvenience with players starting, turning and finishing. Plus only one of the courses had a permanent bathroom facility. On the other two there were more portapotties. Skip this course until they complete their renovations.

Lots of wildlife

We enjoyed this course. I look forward to great beauty and each hole being different. We saw tame deer, roadrunners and javelinas.

January in Paradise golf

Played early afternoon in mid-January, perfect temperature. Fairways, tee-boxes excellent.

Greens quick but did appear to have some beige coloured infestation, having gone dormant in select spots across all greens.

Played Rattler/Coyote combo, which are the more difficult 9’s

Bring sufficient balls as few blinds shots with errant shot could cost a ball or two.

Very enjoyable

Nice View, but

Nice view but facilities under construction. No food/bev other than cart. Very poor organization of groups on the course impaired pace of play. Singles and doubles out interspersed with foursomes.

This is target golf with long carries and blind shots...bring your A-game, plenty of golf balls, and be prepared to wait.

Perfect weather and golfing

StarrPass is my go to golf course because of all the reasons listed in my comments. Staff, service, course and amenities(maybe keep the 19th hole opened for last minute bites). Playing well helps as well. Overall, excellent experience.

Starr Pass

Course was in very good shape! The only negative thing was the greens. They were true putting but the greens had a lot of brown grass. It looked like the over seed didn’t take in some areas

Slow play without a ranger.

Only able to play 14 holes in 4 hours.

Cards called in 20 minutes before sundown. Not impressed.

Worth Playing

I like the layout of the course. Play can be slow depending on the quality of the players in front of you. Maybe a little more spacing would help. Greens were a little rough for the price. At least they were partially open for Christmas. The Clubhouse is under renovation. The grill was open last year but not this year.
