About

Type Resort

Length 6951 yards
Slope 141
Rating 73.7

The Club at Starr Pass offers 27 holes of championship golf that have been host to legends such as Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. One of these combinations is Coyote/Roadrunner. Coyote is the club's signature course and while the Roadrunner nine might be the shortest, it has plenty of elevation changes. Both golf courses are carved from the scenic Tucson Mountains, providing golfers with a diverse landscape that is abundant with jackrabbits, quail, and deer. In addition to the three nines, there is also a double-loaded driving range and a practice area with putting and chipping greens.

Starr course review

This course is fairly narrow and anything hit outside of the fairway was hardpan that slopes away from play. Most of the time that means the ball either kicks into or quickly rolls into unplayable areas as if it were on the cart path itself. The average player will score high due to this so if score isn't important and you, you can still enjoy a good track. The fairways and greens were in great shape so those shots are very rewarding.

I didn't appreciate the course marshal telling us to pick up the pace when our cart said we were on pace and had no one behind us pressing. When I showed him what the cart was telling us he said "don't believe those things". There was no reason for that whatsoever. We finished in just under 4 hours and would have done so without being told to.

Animal park

Beautiful course in immaculate condition. Great views up and down the mountain especially with the deer, havaelinas, and wolves roaming the course. Lightning fast greens that make you focus on your putts. A great experience but a challenging course. Be sure and listen to your starter and take his advice.

Great Course

This is my third time and the conditions are always too notch.

You have to play the course more than once to know where to hit the ball.

Not the best layout for high handicappers .

Will play it again.

Beautiful but ….

The course is beautiful and in excellent shape. A challenge for all but especially for less skilled golfers. We booked to walk nine holes one day but arrived from another country to find the course has no pull carts. Then they charged us $25 per person for a power cart. The most expensive nine holes ever played.

Great course lousy experience

Great golf courses however, the pro shop staff were incredibly cantankerous ruining our experience therefore the dismissal rating. I thought it was a one off and just a bad day for the Pro Shop employee however, we played there 3 times this past week and each time we were greeted by the same unprofessional, and cantankerous behavior.

Visual tough

Rattler is tough off the back tees to see where to go Roadrunner is far more visually playable. Course is in great shape, views and wildlife fantastic deer everywhere we even had a Bobcat in a fairway! Overall a very pleasant experience.

Great course in good condition.

We had a fun day on the course. Only warning would be blind tee shots from the back tees make it tough on a first time player.
