The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote

About
The Club at Starr Pass offers 27 holes of championship golf that have been host to legends such as Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. One of these combinations is Coyote/Roadrunner. Coyote is the club's signature course and while the Roadrunner nine might be the shortest, it has plenty of elevation changes. Both golf courses are carved from the scenic Tucson Mountains, providing golfers with a diverse landscape that is abundant with jackrabbits, quail, and deer. In addition to the three nines, there is also a double-loaded driving range and a practice area with putting and chipping greens.

Course in good shape
Fairways, greens, and bunkers were mostly in good shape. A few of the greens were in repair mode, but not significant.
Pace of play was excellent (3.5 hour round) & staff were great.
Would recommend playing this course.
Seems we should have been told Rattler was cart path only and that there was no beverage cart on the course - otherwise not bad
Nice course overall
I enjoyed the course and the guys I was paired with as I went out as a single. The course layout makes things very challenging for the first time player. I hit a few shots that I I thought would be perfect based on the some guidance from the two guys who knew the course & I could not find my ball. I think you really have to play the course several times to get the lay of the land….
Other than that, this is a great course in a nice setting with limited houses and distractions other than a cool fighter jet or two buzzing by overhead!
Played Palmer and Coyote nines due to Rattler being overseeded. Both of these nines are
just incredible. Courses in great shape and the views (and wildlife) are just awesome!
Poor layout
They've rearranged the 3 nines and the Palmer course is a joke. Three par threes in the first five holes!! Enough said. I won't be back
Tale of two nines
This course has three different nines. I played the Coyote and Palmer. That Coyote is rough if you haven't seen it before. I unloaded eight balls on that side. I lost of javalena on the first tee box and two coyote on the first green. I hope the pictures load. Tough track with different greens on each side. Work is being done to improve so be aware.
Tale of two nines
This course is three different nines. I played the coyote and the Palmer. I lost eight balls on the Coyote course and only two on the Palmer. Greens are sanded right now and some patches on the green. If you're playing back tees there are some good carries to the fairway.
A family of javalena met me on the first tee, two coyotes were waiting on the first green, they followed me to hole two and I went to further tee.
Hoped for better
Views were outstanding. Very nice layout. Areas around greens were under repair making bump and run shots not available. Changed whole complexion of play making scores higher than they should be. Bars were closed for renovations. 19th hole wasn't a bit of bad timing.
Disappointed and won’t be back for a while
I played the Coyote/Palmer courses during a March visit and thought I would try them again. Big difference. The Coyote greens were just dreadful with parts of the greens dead or sectioned with sod. The Palmer course had just opened that day with new Triblend greens. Most of the greens were in fantastic condition except for the eighth which was back to the dead/sod combination. I was told there has been a change in maintenance staff, so hopefully things will improve. The staff at Star Pass couldn’t have been nicer. I’d be nice too if the course is in poor condition.
played 9-20 course has had some issues with greens, they're replacing several areas on some greens, thus making it rough. over watering the collars making it damp and lumpy grounds around the green.
Nice Changes
From the bag drop to the pro shop to the Starter: Everyone was positive and helpful. Was nice to experience.
Beautiful course designs, with fabulous views.
Awesome Course
The best views! Course was challenging but very fair! Would highly recommend to anyone. Probably our favourite course in Tucson!
