About
Chesapeake Golf Club sits tucked away in the idyllic village of Las Gaviotas, conveniently situated just 15 minutes from downtown Norfolk. Boasting some of the best greens in the Tidewater area, the club offers the amenities of a private club with the fees of a public golf course. The layout will challenge you with rolling fairways and tricky doglegs. Water hazards come into play frequently so be prepared for a few intimidating blind shots over water. Mature trees line the rolling fairways and there are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The manageable 6,278-yard length is approachable for beginners yet there are still holes that long hitters will enjoy. Chesapeake Golf Club is a course that will test your skills but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

This course was in great condition
Fairways and greens were in great condition. No complaints at all.

Overall Good Course
Not a bad course for the money. The greens need to love, especially the 18th. Some of the tee boxes Dist have the tee markers out so that was confusing. But not a bad place to play on a rainy Saturday.

Course needs some attention
Every hole layout was tee, rough (ankle high), green. There was no fairway anywhere on this course. I did enjoy the layout and area of the course. Once it gets some love I'll definitely come play it again!

Challenging course
This isn’t the easiest course as there are several holes where you must lay up to carry water hazards, but that’s what I like about it.

Nice course, great staff
To be honest, the only thing I would change is the route of holes. The course itself is great, but to you have to go around your elbow a few tome to get to the next hole. Other than that, it was a great experience. Staffing went out of way to help and very personable.

Terrible
You offered tee times when the front nine was closed for an outing. We almost had to leave and the round took 6 hours. Never use Golfnow again.

Nice day to play
The weather was great. The course is getting ready for the season. Sand on the greens ,aeration plugs ,A qlot of puddled grass for all the rain we have had. But you have to expect that this time of year. I like the course good lay out , not overly busy compared to a few others in the area.
We continue to make improvements daily. And hope you'll give us another try!!
