Legacy Golf Club

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf at Legacy Golf Club. This is one of the finer courses in the area. Course layout is challenging but fair for all handicaps. A lot of water that is impossible to completely miss. Firm and tight fairways. Greens were in great shape. Better condition than most of the courses in the area. Busy course but pace of play was less than 4.5 hrs. Not inexpensive to play but reasonable for the quality of course.

Generous landing areas…played #3 6250 yds…150 barber poles helpful for 1st time playing. Twosome at peak time played in 4 hours. Impressed.

Course conditions were good. Practice range was sad!!

There are other courses in the area that are better and not as expensive

Foursome in front of us heavy drinkers. Cart stopping for them every hole. At tee and mid fairway. Three holes open in front of them. As we came to each tee they were ordering from the cart and we were waiting for them to tee off. Foursome in front of them 3 holes ahead. We asked to play thru and were rudely refused

We called the pro shop who said they saw the backup and would send out a ranger. Never happened. The twosome behind us were now also waiting at each tee with us for them to hit their drives which were always less than 50 yards. The twosome were residents who also notified the pro shop to no avail. Very frustrating round of golf. Tee off 1:19. Couldn’t finish round before dark 6:15.

Definitely some challenging holes! Will play again!

Good course, Good staff, Good food, Fair price! I teed off at 7:45 am as a twosome following a threesome. Pace of play was decent (not fast, not slow). Rangers kept thing moving. Course was in good shape. Greens were in good shape. Beer cart gal came by around hole 12 one time. Staff ere friendly. Course layout was challenging. Hole 19 restaurant and drinks were fair priced and great! I recommend playing Legacy golf club!

Very tight with eater on almost every hole, nice layout, had to place your shots carefully.

Well what can I say about Legacy at Lakewood Ranch other than brilliant. Read about it and checked out the scorecard. 6 sets of T’s tipping at 7008 yards 73.2 / 140. Kudos to The king, Arnold Palmer Signature that didn’t disappoint once.

Staff 5/5. Range 5/5 Chipping Area 2/5(weak) Putting Practice Area 4/5 T Decks 5/5 Fairways 5/5 Sand Traps 5/5 Greens 5/5( fast and true ). The Front was easier than the back( just because the back had a lot more water hazards to contend with ). Favourite hole front from the tips #9 at 478 into the wind par 4. - what a rush.

Pace of play was good - we never really waited for anyone. Generous landing areas off the T and tighter approach shots in to greens - a solid assortment of par 3’s( favourite #13 at 220 all carry over water to a smallish green - could bail a little right but what a wicked hole ). This was a fun golf course in great condition that if played from the proper T’s should give every golfer their monies worth. Speaking of that T before 11am and get lunch and a beer with your green fee.

We loved this golf course so much that we joined. This will be our home course as Canadian Snowbirds and the membership also allows us access to Serenoa Golf Course that is shorter but equally impressive.

Give Legacy at Lakewood Ranch a go if you’re in the Sarasota area I will bet money $$$ you’ll enjoy this wonderful golf course.

Great course… a bit too pricey at 120.00 per round… that will keep me away
