The River Club

First the good,

- friendly staff and greeting

- great price

- layout is good

- fairways and those darn bunkers are in good shape

Opportunities for getting better,

- servers, taking care of closing registers while customers were waiting to be served and have their drinks refreshed. The best businesses have all staff looking for the customers first.

- tee boxes chewed up badly with tee debris everywhere - 1 is really easy to fix.

- greens really chewed up. Felt like a sand trap and affected shots for chips.

- first day of play, pace of play was pretty good. Today, too much waiting.

- get the driving range ball dispensing box closer to the range. Think of this: location 1 - pro shop to purchase token, location 2 - behind clubhouse to get balls, which spill all over the back of the cart on the way to location 3, the driving range. The workflow for customers could be improved.

Friendly staff, challenging layout, greens rolled true but had a lot of damage.

They put people off in order they arrived. Even though people had confirmed tee times. Blamed computer. Had Golfnow receipt indicating my tee time was off 30 mins late. Pro Shop and cart guys clueless. No starter

Solid effort being put into course condition. Still some work to do but very playable. Would return.

Pros- great layout, not an overly difficult course coming in at 6800 from the tips, LOTS of potential, amazing staff

Cons- about half of the greens are seriously beat up, and the course is subject to some slow play

Front nine greens were especially nice, some of the back nine were under repair. Challenging course, beautiful scenery, friendly staff. Got a bit slow at the end, but great time overall.

Course was in very good shape except a couple of greens which were evidently being worked on to improve condition. Overall loved the course and would recommend and go back soon.

Played here three years ago and it was not good! The changes in the course and the personnel is remarkable.

From January until the middle of April every year snowbirds come down and clog up our golf courses. It's a fact of life. The good news in my opinion is that the owner Tony is putting money back into the course to continue to improve it. You have 3 choices: Get over it, join a private club, or don't play in the winter time. River Club is a well designed, challenging golf course. The course is actually in pretty amazing shape considering the amount of play it gets.

If a tee box is bad. Let them know. If they are getting fungus on a green, let everyone know. No one wants to play on a bad golf course. But to give a course a one star because you're angry about having to wait in the middle of winter, that's ridiculous.

In this area, River Club is a 4 star course all day long.

First off the greens have sand all over them and around them and then the bunkers are a clumpy mud that looks like we’re playing at your local muni. Right now I’m waiting on three groups on one hole because the course is overbooked and has no ranger. If you are in the Bradenton Lakewood ranch area, this would be the last place I would recommend.

Pace of play is absolutely horrendous it was a 5 and a half hour round. Didn’t tee off at the right time either.
