The River Club

I used to play here a lot when they where the place to play. They were horribly rude at that time but I loved the course and put up with it.

Service is great now but the course is in horrible condition. Grass burnt out, some greens were really bad with sand all over it. I didn’t mind that they were just done after season, but....

Carts beep every single green to stay on the path, while you are on the path, very annoying. Regular carts don’t have GPS. So six of one and a half dozen of the other.

Course has a nice layout, just needs TLC. One of those middle of the road courses.

Lived this course... lots of room and elevation changes. Challenging but fun.

I played this course 2 years ago and swore I would never return. However, I gave it another shot on the recommendation of a fellow player. The course was definitely better than 2 years ago. Tee boxes were decent, greens were good, fairways still need some work and there are some really bad traps (little or no sand and not maintained,) The driving range looked like a cow pasture.

I would certainly give this an average rating but still an interesting layout and a challenge to an average golfer.

The course is in great shape with nice tee boxes and fairways but the greens need some help, especially 17. Great value and a very nice layout with great food and staff.

Definitely a best bang for the bucks choice. Challenging enough, maintained enough to be well worth the cost of playing there without disappointment. Pristine it is not, but Pristine comes with a much higher price tag

The greens are in the worst shape I’ve ever seen them within the past 9 year.

Great course. Track was in awesome shape and has beautiful layout. Overall solid course. My one beef: I booked a twighlight round on GN which I assumed allowed for as many holes until dark, however pro shop informed me carts had to be in by 7:15 (gets dark around 8). I was also guilt tripped by starter for booking such a late round. If you don’t want twighlight golfers please don’t advertise the tee times. I would come back but probably earlier in day to avoid this happening again

Very good layout. If tees and greens were in better shape I would have given the course a much better rating. Price, staff, and amenities were great. Perhaps a few bridges to cut down on all the driving about.

The staff was excellent but many of the tee boxes were in very poor shape along with the greens. I like the River Club but could not recommend it in its current shape.

First the good,

- friendly staff and greeting

- great price

- layout is good

- fairways and those darn bunkers are in good shape

Opportunities for getting better,

- servers, taking care of closing registers while customers were waiting to be served and have their drinks refreshed. The best businesses have all staff looking for the customers first.

- tee boxes chewed up badly with tee debris everywhere - 1 is really easy to fix.

- greens really chewed up. Felt like a sand trap and affected shots for chips.

- first day of play, pace of play was pretty good. Today, too much waiting.

- get the driving range ball dispensing box closer to the range. Think of this: location 1 - pro shop to purchase token, location 2 - behind clubhouse to get balls, which spill all over the back of the cart on the way to location 3, the driving range. The workflow for customers could be improved.

Friendly staff, challenging layout, greens rolled true but had a lot of damage.
