North/West at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Fernandina Beach Golf Club is home to three distinct nines, the North, South, and West that make up three different 18-hole combinations. This 27-hole facility boasts a unique configuration on each of the nines for a truly diverse golfing experience. The North/West course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club combines the longest nine, the West, and the shortest nine, the North. The North nine features undulating greens and water hazards but the generous, wide-open fairways of the West nine make the golf course accessible to players of all skill levels. Native foliage in addition to towering oaks and pines throughout the course allow for a scenic escape in addition to an excellent round.

Poor Maintenance
This course could be so much more if it was maintained properly, even on the North which was redone recently. Let's start with the Tee boxes - sad, very sad, dirt, very little grass, some aren't even very flat, (almost convex). The tee markers are haphazardly placed. Some greens are OK, some have very little grass, some have huge circles of deterioration. Some fairways are OK, and playable, but a lot are in terrible condition. Hit a great drive and to find your ball sitting in dirt - not good.
Wouldn't Refund or Give Rain Check
I was unable to make the tee time, and they were unwilling to refund or give me a rain check, and I was unable to cancel through the app. Will most likely never attempt to play here again. Very greedy and cheap of them
Hot Spring Day
Nice course amenities and great staff customer service. The course was in poor shape from tee to green. Not very crowded so moved along quickly.
Needs some TLC.
Good course
All the greens were in great shape however the West course we’re about 3 points faster than the greens on the North course! Some tee boxes and fairways lacked grass and produced extremely tight lies!
The lady that checked us in was just fantastic. I told the Head Pro and he said that she had been there for several years. Please keep her!
Fernandina Beach public golf course
My favorite course in North East Florida highly recommend
Horrible Golf Course conditions and Serious Lack of Staff
It has been a year + since last playing Fernandina Beach GC so we were familiar with the golf course. Apparently labor shortages are having a significant negative impact. Only the North and West 9 holes are used. Prior to today, the West and South 9 were in play for Golf Now players. The North course is very sad with weeds throughout the fairways, around tee boxes and greens. Practically zero grass of any variety on fairways, clipped weeds and uneven surface were the norm. I was amazed at a line of weeds several inches tall along the edge of a green side bunker. The West course fairs much better in upkeep. No Starter, no course supervision or Player Assistant. Result; two fathers with two young teens absolutely indifferent to any golf etiquette caused a backup where the FIVE groups behind them backed up. We were the fourth group waiting. At the turn going from North to West, We played just two very slow play holes, then a shortened par 5 to a par 3 due to car show exhibits being removed, the next hole and then quit after continued back-up delay. To cap off this experience? We drove 52 miles each way, 104 miles round trip, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to play golf. Thank you Fernandina.
The Course Needs Some TLC
A great public course on an island that is only getting more crowded. This course has great potential but is in need of some maintenance work, especially around the greens.
Good Value for the Money, decent course.
Enjoyable course for the cost. Very inexpensive compared to other courses.
Worth a try if you have never been there.
Very limited Clubhouse amenities.
Great Value.
I think some of the negative reviews are too harsh. Yes some of the fairways have rough spots and one of the 18 greens we played was in poor shape, but overall the course was in great shape. Green fairways smooth greens and beautiful views. We paid $40 with a cart for 18. The course was not crowded and the staff friendly and welcoming. If you wanna be a snotty golfer who demands Augusta National greens then go play somewhere else.
Condition
The greens were awful. Brown and hard. The Course and a green had wheels chemical tracks.
