About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Golfer Reviews
Course is Rough
This course is in rough shape. It is obvious this course gets very little maintenance. Greens are bad and the fairways and first cut of rough were way too long. The price we paid for the condition of this course was not good.
Course is in bad shape
I hadn't played here in years and the course has really gone downhill. Weed, insects, and overgrowth is everywhere and half the greens were full of weed and insect mounds. Will not be going back until I hear they have improved the course The staff were all great, but the course is in bad shape. There were no other golfers in front or behind us all day.
Needs work (con't)
One more thing, we know NH is a Links style course, but I have played several Links courses and right now NH is a neglected Links course. Bring it back and we'll be back.
Needs work
Played here a few years ago and the course was very nice. On August 1, 2026 my buddy and I decided to play NH again, wow, what a difference. The course needs mowed, it's really been neglected. The first cut will take every other ball in it, much too deep. There was no second cut because the grass was overgrown on the entire course, knee length in some places (it's not Shinnecock Hills). The greens were spotty throughout and most of them had weeds. Lastly, the grille was advertised as open until 6:00 PM and we finished at 3:00 and were told the grille was closed. I'll keep my eyes on the reviews, but my buddy and I will not be back until things improve.
Fun Round on a HOT Day
Great to see the course back on GolfNow! Staff was welcoming and friendly at check in. Course was in good shape but a few rough spots on the greens and occasional fairway preventing a full 5 stars. The crew is obviously working hard to return to its former pristine condition. Will return again soon!
Fun Course
Fun course at N Hampton. Staff was friendly and starter Joe was helpful. Course in mostly great shape. Cart paths are worst part of course but didn’t bother us. I would like to see hole pics at each Tee box or hole pics on scorecard as this was our first time playing course and water is on almost every hole but not always visable from tee. Large greens. Nice fairways. Tactical shot making decisions needed b/c of high number of water holes and their placement. Turtles, gators, bunnies and cranes spotted along the course.
So disappointing
One of our go to courses in the greater Jax area.
Sorry to say but…Rough condition overall, greens poor, to be polite. This is not the N Hampton we played in 2020, or years before.
Great traps I’d you love sand,
Not sure if it the location or neighbourhood apathy, pkng lot 75% vacant @ 11:30 am.
Just terrible.....
The pics will speak for itself. Absolutely terrible. Paid $72 to play!!
Just terrible...
Cost $72 and it’s just terrible.. I’ll post pics of the fairway and green. They will say all I need to say.
Bare Fairways and Bumpy greens
Based on the green fee, I expected so much more from the course. The fairways were 50/50...dirt to grass. The greens had clumps of a different grass growing in them. Made putting a 3 footer impossible. There were several areas of the course that was undergoing renovation. Mostly fairway and green side bunker complexes. I just played them as ground under repair. This is the first time I'd played the course in at least 18 months...probably be that long before I play again.
Hit Your Spots
North Hampton is set in a residential neighborhood not far from Amelia Island. For the most part, the houses do not come into play. In the winter the Bermuda grass goes dormant so playing on brown is unusual, but the conditions are still quite good. The greens can be fast and they roll true.
An Arnold Palmer design, the course has a wide range of holes in terms of length and direction. The wind was howling on my last visit and that made it easy to get into trouble. Although the fairways are generally wide it is important to end up in the proper place to get onto the greens. There are a number of marsh and ponds that set up forced carries.
There is a driving range and steeply sloped putting green. The carts are newer and the staff is helpful. Good value for money.
Hidden Gem
One of my favorite courses. Challenging with rolling hills. Great layout and not exactly a short course. Yes, some holes are short making you want to go for the green on a par 4 but if you miss, lost ball for sure. Worth the money to play.
Challenging course
This is a great Arnold Palmer course with a challenging layout. Beautiful surroundings with plenty of dunes and nature. Love it.
Great views and challenging layout
no two holes are the same. Very interesting undulating fairways and greens. Birdied the alligator hole! A must play if you like to explore the variety of courses in the area. Only negative is the bev cart was not stocked. But course was fabulous.
Fairways dry to bad for such a great course
The Greens were in excellent shape but the fairways were all dry and brown in several areas. This course has always been great in the past and I was shocked on how bad the fairways were.
Challenging and well maintained course
Pro shop gent very accommodating to me for having to modify my tee time to a bit later. Professional and courteous (Robin was his name, I believe) course was in very nice shape; greens held and rolled quickly. Super friendly staff all around; beverage cart lady, food service Mgr, pro shop attendant. Everyone was cognizant and instructive as to the social distancing and sanitizing protocols.
Great Deal!
Used a Golf Pass code, and got a great deal. Greens were ok, and the bunkers were washed out from recent rain. Even so, it's a great layout, and very fair. Would recommend it highly.
Great bang for the buck!
No problem golf. Nice layout. Challenging but fair. The only problem was the bunkers. They were pretty much unplayable, but local downpours in this part of the country make them hard to maintain..
