Amelia National Golf and Country Club

About
Amelia National Golf and Country Club, designed by Tom Fazio, maintains and showcases the natural beauty that Amelia Island has to offer. Fazio sought to create a golf course that closely followed the existing topography, allowing a seamless transition between nature and an excellent round of golf. Water hazards in the form of lakes and swales are sprinkled throughout Amelia National Golf and Country Club and bunkers are strategically positioned around the fairways and greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green. The golf course was designed for championship play but the layout has forgiving features that provide a good game for players of all skill levels.

Very nice Tom Fazio course
Very good condition tee box to green. Great layout. Plenty of room off the tee, but if you make a mistake it’ll cost you a shot and then you have to make up for it with a great chip/pitch or putt. Typical Fazio. Kind of course you could play every day. And I wish I could. A lot of fun today. Great greens!
A great challenge
It was my first time playing here but it won’t be the last. It’s definitely a course you need a bit of local knowledge on.The second time around I am sure my score will drop by a few strokes The staff from the time we walked in to the time we finished were all first rate professionals. We did the member for a day special ,and they really did make us feel like valued members of the club while we were there. Like a private club there was only 1 or 2 groups on the whole course while we played. The pace of play was great
The course itself was in great shape with undulating greens that putt quick and true. Play the tees you should be playing and I think anyone can enjoy this course. Play the wrong ones and I’m sure you will pay the price
Outstanding golf course and club house.
Challenging greens, undulating and sloped. Well bunkered and premium on accuracy with approach shots. Good luck on your first try!
Great golf track!
I booked a rare teetime on GolfNow on a Wednesday afternoon. This course is really nice. Staff was really great and super friendly. Greens were smooth but on the slow-ish side compared to what I normally play on. I played alone and played in 3 hours. This course is private so I was suprised that they had times on Golfnow, so maybe they'll offer more times in the future, because I would love to play here again.
Best of both worlds
Just moved to the area about 2 months ago and was looking for a course to join. Love Amelia National and all it has to offer. Inquired about membership and it cost around $7000 a year. Then I saw it is on Golf Now. I did the numbers and ended up joining across the street at N. Hampton. But the glory of it all is I now can play once a week at Amelia National and still play twice a week at N. Hampton for the price of a membership at Amelia National!!
Perfect conditions
The course is in great shape, the greens were a little “sandy” from the aeration but the ball was rolling fast.
Must play course
Great friendly staff. Ideal tees, fairways, and greens. Wide fairways, big greens, many bunkers, and water in play. Free bottled water on the course.
Great Golf Course
Nice fairways and greens. Cold water bottles available on the course. Excellent value. Friendly staff.
Happy accident
I had never seen Amelia National listed on golfpass before yesterday and as of this writing can not find another tee time for any future date. So- as it happens I was the beneficiary of a very happy accident at golfpass HQ. This course is pretty fantastic. Fairways are generous with lots of bunker framing and risk/reward options. All of our rain lately has made the rough, well.. rough- try not to hit it there. I played from the blues so there was a lot of slope (but still fair). It's got a good variety of par 3's, both distance and green design. Everything is well maintained and the greens run True. The finishing hole could be dropped right onto any PGA tour course and be right at home. I played on Friday at 11 and only saw 3 other groups all day, I felt like I owned the place. I was sad when it was over. I tried immediately to book it again but alas, nada. I mean nothing going forward. I'm glad this accident happened to me.
Red flag delight
Played for the first time, and it was a great experience. The course is in magnificent shape. Greens are in perfect condition, tee boxes and fairways also. Staff was helpful.
Course has some tight holes, but for the most part it is forgiving
It plays less than 5900, from the white tees. A good mix of short and long holes. One par five plays 425 yards, then a couple of holes
later we play a par 4 that played 423. My only complaint.
Course is great place to play, makes my top 10 in Jacksonville, area.
Course is in Yulee, and deserves an outing.
Course to yourself
I had never played here before but had an 8:30 am tee time on a Saturday morning. We tee'd off and barely saw anyone on the course the rest of the round. The course was in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers were all in great shape. The greens are huge here, but almost always slightly elevated and very undulated. They were fast and rolled great. Course layout is great. There's water everywhere on the course, but it's not overly difficult. The employees were friendly and overall our group had a great experience. Will be back soon.
Great Course no one knows about
I love Fazio courses and if you didnt know he designed this course, you'd guess he might have. Easy to hit fairways, easy to find wayward drives, big greens, lots of big bunkers...not crowded at all and water provided on the course!
nice course
played today..weather was good got cold due to wind on the back side. Course, clubhouse, driving range , putting green and chipping green were first class....balls were free. course is fabulous greens rolled true..fast but not so fast that you just hit the ball and hoped it did what you lined it up to do,but you had to get the speed right. You had to line it up right and if you missed it would be close.. rolled farther with a soft hit. Greens had a lot of bite. Rest of course was in PGA tourmanment condition. The service was 5 star..if you get the chance to play this private course dot it!! You will love it!!
