Blue Sky Golf Club (formerly known as Mill Cove Golf Club), which opened in 1990, is an Arnold Palmer Signature golf course located in the heart of the Jacksonville golfing community.
Blue Sky Golf Club has wetlands and marsh areas, tree-lined fairways and native bunkers.
The par-72 golf course measures 6,784 yards from the longest tees. The course rating is 72.1, with a slope rating of 130 on Bermuda grass.

Greens and maintenance
The greens were in atrocious shape and the maintenance crew was spray and working on the greens and fairways while we were taking shots and showed no courtesy to players in the fairway or tee box. Tried to speak to management and I was informed that they were not on site. Left my phone number and it’s 6:30 pm and still haven’t received a call. This used to be a nice course but has taken a turn for the worse.

Below average course for the money.
The rates should be somewhere in the upper teens, for 32 dollars their are much nicer courses in the area. The bar cool, their driving range looks nice especially with the monitors, however, the course is in rough shape.
Up and coming course
This course is a great layout and great fun. The only downside is the conditions of some of the greens. Patchwork like crazy. I feel like a quality greens keeping staff and a little elbow grease would make this course a true gem.

Wow. What a mess this place has become,,no grass on tee boxes,,very little fairway grass and bumby. ,greens all patchwork,,golf carts falling apart,,all this for $ 47. Bucks,,outrageous ,,,,WONT BE BACK

Would love to play this course when it’s at its finest.
I really liked the design of this course. Challenging but fun! The biggest issue, however, was that there were tons of patches of sod all over the course (including a few greens) and they honestly could patch up a few more areas. Obviously I just caught this course at the wrong time, but I’d like to play this course again once the grass is repaired.

Something needs to be done
The course is starting to look like it did before it closed. No grass in the fairways no grass on the tee boxes greens slow bumpy and inconsistent from green to green. It looked great when it first reopned and has gone done hill over the past two years to the point that i really dont want to play there even though i live really close to blue sky. There are a dozen courses in Jacksonville you can play for the same price or less that are in way better shape.

First time and wouldn’t go back
Wasn’t what I was expecting. Had problems getting keys for cart and employee got attitude when asking what to do. Not a good layout of course.

Problem group
Moved along well for 13 holes, then got stuck behind a rowdy group. There was 6-7 people. They were yelling, driving carts in circles, taking multiple shots including running starts, hitting at the same time off the tee box and hitting while there friends we’re driving cats in the path of their shots. Disruptive, dangerous and really put a damper on the end of our round.

Pass on this course
To start with, there was no traditional clubhouse. It was like entering a busy restaurant with a bar and a wait to be seated sign. 15 min wait before a hostess directed me to the bar for another 5 min wait fir the bartender to acknowledge me. I informed him that it was my 1st time there and I asked if there was anything I needed to know? He replied, “It’s my 3rd day, I don’t know anything about golf”. No marshal anywhere and D-bags everywhere. I waited for 10 minutes at the tee box on the 5th hole waiting for a cart to move out of the fairway and when it did the tools driving the cart hit their balls back and returned to another fairway. They were not even playing that hole. Trash found in the woods and water hazards. Course was in terrible shape. It was a shame b/c the layout and location were not bad. Poorly run and the management should not be allowed to call it a golf course. A “golf-like” experience at best and shouldn’t cost more than $10 for 18 holes and a cart.
Sprinklers?????
Enjoyed the course. However, the grounds crew ran the sprinklers for the first nine holes. We were constantly racing to tee off and hit second shots while dodging sprinklers.

Needs to be a ranger to enforce etiquette when it comes to letting a two some play through a SLOW four some. No cart girl all day, 90 degrees out with NO water jugs either. Other than that, course was good.
Great course overall
Blue Sky is a fun layout. Not particularly difficult. Fair test of golf. Greens looked good. Tee boxes and fairways are looking a little rough. Dead patches. Staff is always great. A little overpriced to me for the course conditions but not too bad. If you want a solid, fun round of golf you can’t go wrong here. My group plays there once a month.

Poor tee time management
Started groups too close together. Had to wait a minimum of five minutes between every shot. Should adjust tee times based on group sizes for pace of play.
Good Local Course
Play here pretty often and always nice to get out to play 9 holes. Greens were extra sandy today and pace of play a bit slow. Seems there was a bit of a back up compared to normal. I still recommend this course as i have played it several times and this is the first time I have encountered a slower pace and very sandy greens. I'll be back there in another week or two.

Good value. Fun course to just play and get out in open air.
Liked the wide open fairways. Truly a good value. not the best kept course but for the money a good course to go out and knock the ball around. Course should be maybe a 2.5 star rating but for money I'd give it a 4. Played fairly fast. Don't take game too serious if playing here but you will enjoy the day.
