Hidden Hills Golf Course
About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

It's been about a year since I've played there.Boxes need a little work.Greens are coming back.Fairways are still a little blistered, but it's under new management and the guys doing exceptionally.Wealth for what he has to work with
Sandbox
They said the water pumps have been off and they were on water restrictions and warned me that the fairways were like sandy. Pretty much all the grass on the fairway was dead, and sand patches were everywhere. Constantly had to move your ball in the fairway just to find something to hit off of.
Poor course condition
I've been playing this course for six years and this is the worst it's ever been in. The starters were super friendly and everything else was fine but the course is horrific !!! Anywhere on the fairways was nothing but sand or very thin. I won't be playing there for at least the next 8 months and maybe they'll have it back in descent shape. I was wondering why the price was lower than everybody else's.
Terrible Conditions
The course was in terrible condition. There was more dirt on the fairways than grass and the greens were something else. Some were normal and in decent greens, others were like putting on shag carpet. Definitely not worth the price to play.
Challenging course , great elevation
This course was very challenging. When they repair the fairways it will be a top golf course. U can see the effort being made . Many of the greens look brand new .
Potential Exceptional Course
As I stood on each hole throughout the day, I saw the exceptional potential of a Championship course that needs Funding and proper course maintenance that would put this design on the maps as one of the BEST layouts in the state of Florida. The Clubhouse, practice facility and the course itself have the potential !!!
The homes surrounding the entire course are exceptional. Build it and they will come....
MONEY is the lack of its rise......
Women’s tee boxes
They put the women’s tee boxes randomly on places in the fairway that were horrible and at angles. Also I was so dandy and never once went into a bunker .. I love the challenge of this course but not worth the money
Do not play here
Hidden Hills should not be open. There are no grass in the fairways, some tees were closed on certain holes, and the greens are so slow and furry you can't make putts and the speed is different per hole but always SLOW. Most golf courses in Jacksonville don't have these issues. I will never play this course again.
Nice club that needs some rain and maintenance
Club house is nice. The rental clubs are above average except for the putter which needs to be updated. The layout of the course is really cool lots of water and houses especially off the tee. The fairways were really dry and sandy. Lots of sand and dirt spots really easy to hit under the ball and tough to compress. Back 9 greens were better than the front 9. Greens are slow and break way less than they look. People on the course were nice except for some teenage kids that were behind us then skipped ahead of us and then at some point gave up golf and just ripped around the course in the carts.
HH Golf
Greens in better condition than fairway. Some tee boxes weren’t even boxes. Had multiple holes teeing off from weird areas with black/blue/white all together
Under repair
A lot of the tee boxes were just sand and I guess seed and tees were well forward.
Multiple fairways were just hardpan with very little grass, and multiple greens had bare patches.
I don't know if some fungus or disease caused the damage, but it's not it good shape and the greens fees don't reflect the condition.
Constantly Improving
The course is in better shape than it was several months ago. The greens have improved tremendously, the tee boxes could use some work, but I guess you can't do all the improvents at once. It's differently going in the right direction as long as they keep headed there. Good job!!
