Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Disappointed
The play was as slow as slow can be.. the greens were in horrible shape. Very disappointed .. not worth 100.00 to play this courses at all. Fairways are really dry. All around not good the staff was very friendly but that’s the only thing good about my visit..
This course is a lot of fun
The golf course is very exciting to play because throughout the course there’s signs with some history to let you know what’s happened over the years in the PGA tournament. The course is well designed and in excellent condition. The overall atmosphere being inside Disney World is very exciting to me. I always enjoy playing here I would highly recommend it to anybody that comes to Orlando.
Good deal
nice course layout, but pretty tough to hit the greens because of location of sand traps, fairways ok, but greens not in good shape, bumpy and dry
Disney at its best
The Magnolia was in great shape. Greens were true fairways and the sand traps were in great shape. Plenty of water if you are off line
I will be back
Super layout
A different challenge on every hole. Dogleg left and right are about equal. Greens are fast.
Holiday Ball
I enjoyed myself tremendously at this course. The customer service & assistance from Pete was very much appreciated. Easily a top 10 fav course for me.
What a great day with friends
Staying at Disney for the thanksgiving weekend. Wanted to play golf on a Disney course and this course lived up to the Disney standards. Will be back next year and will define be playing this course again. There are historical signs on every hole about past winners accomplishments during past tour tournaments this was a Great way to spend the day. If you have not played it I would recommend playing this course.
Very wet, very slow
Orlando has received quite a bit of rain in the last week - thus we expected muddy conditions and were not disappointed. The range was closed and the course was cart path only. They did offer your money back if you quit after two holes but surprising the first two holes were the driest. The front was manageable except for #8 and #9, that were unplayable with no where within fifty yards to drop after the drive and second shots. The back nine - every hole was pretty poor. Bunkers were thin, little sand in many as you could see the places where others hit. The greens were decent - faster than the practice green and held shots. AS expected the pace was glacial, with he two foursomes in front of us playing from eight carts with little understanding of where to park. The Player Assistant were cordial but despite the group two in front of us being at least a hole behind, nothing was done. We were 4 hours and 45 minutes waiting on every shot except for a second putt. Not sure why the two groups were in individual carts as they arrived in two cars. My playing partner and I were not offered two carts (we also came in one car). The kicker - there is no water available on the course unless you pay $3. Are you kidding? If you cannot offer water because of Covid, give everyone a couple of bottles and add a dollar or two to the cost. Dansani water costs WDW less than .20 cents/bottle. There is no excuse, other than to suck a few dollars out of a guest's pocket to do this. A final note - I have played both Disney courses many times. The course conditions continue to worsen over the last five years.

Shelton
Need to fix the drainage for the price they charge you would assume they would do a better job with drainage on the course understand there was a lot of rain a couple days prior but if it was managed correctly there should be good drainage
Beautiful track
It was my first time playing there. The course is in fantastic shape. The greens were a little furry, but it’s that time of year. Beautiful day, great staff, wonderful course. The only drawback is a lack of parking. They need another lot on top of the one they have.

The course was nice. Florida golf just seems different than the mountain and hilly golf I am used to. It was a nice change of pace. It was definitely a challenging course with water and bunkers coming into play. They do keep it up and the pace of play seemed slow the day I was there and we even skipped a hole because of the people in front of us. The bunkers make this course and luckily for me I only hit into two the whole day.

If you have some specific examples of what you mention in your review, that would really help. The cold cloudy days of late have led the Bermuda grass to go dormant, and expect the course to flourish again as soon as the climate warms up.
