Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7505 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 142 and a 76.6 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

A Fun Course With Some Challenges
The course was in very good shape, as always for a Disney course. The fairways and tee boxes were first rate. The greens rolled true and were faster than average for a resort course, though not as fast as I've seen them in the past. I can't comment on the pace of play as we were the first group out and played in under 4 hours.
Great shape.
It was in great condition when I played. Greens rolling true and relatively fast, but nothing scary. Usually all the Disney courses are pretty packed because of all the tourism but was able to get my round in right around 4 hours. No beverage cart driving around. It was stationary only on 2 holes, which on a very hot Florida summer day was too far apart.
the course was in great condition
great time. played in 4 hours we got out on time and staff was very pleasant I would go back in a heart beat.
Great shape.....
It's nice to see the Magnolia available on GN.....!
Course was in excellent condition, in spite of the heavy rains lately......much dryer than the neighboring Palm course. Greens were excellent and fairways lush.
Food and beverage is only available from a small shack at the start and as you'd expect at Disney, is expensive and mediocre, but water and ice are available on the course.
Pace of play tends to be slow, as is typical on most resort courses. We played Sunday morning and took 4:40 to get around. All wooded areas are marked as lateral water hazards in an effort to speed up play, but you just can't do much with the Disney/tourist/resort crowd. It is what it is.
Good course at a good price. Expert tip....pass on the $10 bucket of range balls and just head to the range, where you WILL find plenty of half-hit buckets available for your warm up.
Play the course, just be prepared to be there for a while.
The course was nice will play again
The course was nice . Had a great round not to difficult. The price was nice for local residents the play was very slow but really enjoyed it!!!
the course is a great course
When I booked this course I was unaware that the rates were for residents only.We still were allowed to play but I do not think the courses should be on the golfnow list if it they do not want visitors in that state to play the course.Even though we didn't finish,it was a great experience to get to play the Magnolia Course.
Fun course to play
It's a fun course to play. It's's challenging and playable for both new and seasoned golfers. Best thing was the price I paid as a Florida resident.
Great challenge and a great place to play
The Staff is wonderful and friendly. Lots of diversity with sand, lakes, trees, and hills. Great place to play for the more challenged golfer but a beginner might find it overwhelming. The greens were fast. No complaints. Great value for your money.
Play Like the Pros!
This course is all around a great place to play. The layout is fair but you can definately get yourself in trouble. Very fast and grainy greens that roll great. The fairways are nice with a beautiful first cut of rough and the second cut is very plush and fair. The bunkers were maintained great and nice to hit out of! GPS was spot on; it was also nice playing a course you get to watch the pros play. Overall a great place!
Much Improved Magnolia
It has been years since I played the Magnolia Course, it was starting to show it's age... I started playing the course in 1979 and it was a bargain in those days... I would state that again with my most recent round... the GolfNow deal and the perfection of the course was truly a treat. The staff could not have been friendlier, we were even thanked for keeping up with the pace... The greens were absolutely true and the rest of the course was in perfect condition... we will be playing there again soon.....
Stunning
Disneys magnolia course was everything we hoped for. From usual disney friendly staff to fantastic manicured fairways, Magnolia was a great experience. Round was a fraction on the slow side, 2 and a half hours front 9 and 2 15 back. Some very tough holes with greens well protected by large bunkers
Great Course
Not a fan of not being able to drive the cart to my car to collect my gear. Fun course. Not a lot of water. But there were challenging holes. I would definitely come back.
Golf trip 2014
Excellent course played off the whites great round fairways cut nicely greens well maintained and not overly quick staff friendly refreshment cart prices bit inflated good gps system
Sorry didn't get to play the magnolia
THey had the US Kids there perparing for there event, so they redirected us to the Palms to better our pace of play. If the palms is any indication of any of the courses at this facility it is well worthy the time and money. Our time to complete the round was slowed by the foursome in front of us to wait the tee box and fairway on every hole speaks for itself (Where is a marshall when you need one).
Disney Course
Great Course.. rest stops on course not up to Disney standards. No Club house "19th hole" to go and review game over a drink and some food.
Really Nice Course, But Not Very Disney-like
I have always wanted to play at a Disney course, because I love Disney World! I got a pretty good deal on a tee time, so I was even more excited to play this course! The course itself is extremely nice, very beautiful and well maintained! It's challenging and a long course, but not frustrating. The only thing I didn't like about it was it wasn't very Disney like. I thought there would be more "fun" to it (I'm not talking about windmills and Disney characters running around, just, more Disney type fun...) but there wasn't. It was basically a really nice golf-course. I would have completely forgotten I was even NEAR Disney World, had it not been for the tee boxes with the Mickey Mouse ears. There is also one bunker in the shape of Mickey's head...but that's it. Again, it's a GREAT course, just not what I was looking for in a Disney course.
Too wet; too slow
The course was very wet - cart path only. Surprising that this course drains so poorly. Wet conditions and Father's Day pairings made for a long day on the course.
Everything else was top Disney quality and golfing beats almost anything else on a Sunday.
golf
Its disneyworld what do you exspect great shape fast greens
13 hcp
Greens Were piped and not great as you expected. But no one told me, and they still charged the same greenfee. I would have rebooked to another Course at Disney if i got the heads up.
Disney Golf
Have played here years ago, but course is not in as good of shape now. Maybe due to company managing it now. Overall, the course is in good shape. Fairways and greens are decent. The rough and areas around the green are sparse with quite a bit of it just dirt. Workers were trying to put sod in large areas that had no grass. Overall, not the course I played when
Disney operated it. Not a good value for the rate they charge.
