Disney's Palm Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 6840 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 73.3 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
The natural Florida woodlands provide a stunning backdrop to one of America's premier resort courses. Architect, Joe Lee, designed the 6,870-yard Palm with elevated tees and greens. The key ingredient, of course, was the Florida palm and he made good use of nearly every variety for aesthetic and strategic purposes. Its fairways are crafted through a pine forest of mature, natural woodlands that includes moss-dappled oak, maple and cypress trees. Palmetto scrub fills the forest floor. It boasts of more than its share of water and sand with nine water holes and 94 bunkers.
This is a perfect choice for everything from a casual round to a large group outing.

Pace slow
Course seems to be in reasonably good shape, especially greens and t-boxes. The area around the greens was quite tight, making chipping difficult. This seems different from when Disney ran the courses. Pace was very slow.
Happiest Golf in the world
Staff was so friendly
Played by myself with my daughter in tow
Usually I play poorly when a single stuck behind a foursome
Staff was so friendly I was so relaxed ended up shooting 80 which is not a great score for me but usually in that situation I shoot mid 89s
Top Ten Courses in Central Florida
This is my 5th or 6th time playing the Palm and it never disappoints me. The course is always in amazing condition, pin placements are always different and the management is spot on. I personal say this course is in my Top Ten best courses to play in Central Florida.
We payed the front nine in a regular pace of 2 hours and then on #10 hit a wall of 3 groups on a par 5.. Needless to say we chose to leave because it was already 5 pm.
Best of the mouse courses
Great layout great pace of play. 4 hours on a Saturday morning. Friendly professional starter. Wish they had a cart girl. Water and food ridiculously high priced. Got to feed the rat. Grass on the fairways cut a bit too tight. Greens perfect with subtlle and difficult breaks. Traps come into play every hole. Much better layout than the magnolia course. Get the feeling u r on a PGA tract.
When u can get a fair rate on line. Grab it. You won't be sorry.
excellent course
played disney palms yesterday ,I'm visiting from Ireland,PLENTY OF WARNING WILDLIFE SIGNS,the course is beautiful to play ,stunning views,in great condition and although i played here before a few years back i found the staff everywhere to be even more helpful and friendly than before ,, well worth playing , there was a few damp patches on the course but thats the weather ,
I always have a great time on ANY of the Disney tracks. This one has to be my favorite. I really enjoy the layout, it will test your game as some of the shots have hazards on both sides, you may have to do a little course management. The par 3 16th may be one of my favorite par 3's of all time. Such a great view from the tee down to the green. If you have not played here, you are missing out!!
Worth playing at the right price
Our experience at the Palm Course was pretty good all around.
Arrival (bag drop & payment of fees) was handled very clearly and in a professional and friendly manner. We were paired with a single player to make a 3-ball and this meant that pace of play around the whole course was pretty good; there were a few delays, but an overall time of around 4.5 hours was not too bad. treating all hazards as "lateral" also helped keep up the pace of play and made for a relaxed atmosphere.
The condition of the course is fine, although perhaps not justifying the full rate which we paid; discounted rates seem to be available and should be used if possible. The greens were in good shape and overall it was an enjoyable round.
There were not any proper changing/shower facilities at the course nor was there a proper clubhouse. We had a quick lunch at the kiosk/bar overlooking the practice green, which was fine, but may not suit everyone.
Not a fast round
More character since the A Palmer redu. Played with my wife and another couple. Not a fast round 4hr 50 min but our social jabber waiting for shots made it enjoyable. Acceptable published times for the Disney courses is 4:30 - but we waited on every shot. Greens received shots and we're rolling nice and true. Fairways were in good shape.
Well worth playing.
As a scratch golfer in his early 50's I enjoy the challenge of this golf course. I am a little surprised of the dated feel of the buildings around the course and the lack of an on site dining. I just tend to expect that the Disney experience would be more apparent at the courses. That being said, the course is almost always in nice shape and everyone is quite friendly. I have played here several times and see no reason not to continue.
Great staff and course condition
First time playing course , conditions and staff were great. Staff is friendly and informative and you feel like they want to make sure you have a great time. Greens were great and overall course conditions great. Pace of play s great as well. Tee time 1:24 Teed off 10 minutes early and played the front 9 in 55 minutes !!!!
Ran into groups on the back but still played in under 2 hours ( 1:50)
Only issue was the tees on about half the holes were moved up. Would have liked to play at the 6870 on the card for the blue tees
Generous landing area for tee shots.
The best of what Disney has to offer
The Palms course is one of my favorite courses in central Florida and though I haven't played it in 4-5 years it continues to be fantastic. From the staff to the layout to the condition, the Palms course is really top notch. Tree lined fairway, forced carries and tough quick greens make for a true test of golf. I would highly recommend you put this course in your itinerary for your next Orlando buddies trip. Don't miss out on great Disney customer service and a really fine test of golf.
Palm 9-28-16
My favorite of the three Disney courses.
Fun course - great value
Course was in great shape considering how wet the course was. You could easily see standing water on the grounds, so I cannot blame the course for going cart path only during the time we were there. Greens were in good shape when we played. Would love to return to the course when the fairways are dry.
Old style Florida Resort course
11:24 tee time w/ buddy using $10 Golfnow Reward. Hooked up w/ 2 fellas from Lakeland. Battery powered carts w/ GPS, windshield & rain cover in back. Resort priced drinks/snacks available @ stand @ turn. Has wide tee shot landing areas but if not in fairway, you'll be penalized w/ tough shots. It is well maintained but nothing spectacular about this course. Has old drainage systems & course was still wet/mushy in a lot of areas. Tee boxes, fairways, & greens are plush. Bunkers in good shape. Greens recently punched & aerated, not completely healed & not rolling real true but fairly fast. Courses just as nice: Kings Ridge Kings course, Highlands Ridge North course, Westminster Golf Club,.
Disney delivers!
This was my second time playing the Palm course at Disney, and it was even better the second time around. The fairways were in mint shape and the greens even better. They were nice and quick and rolled very smooth. The key is to make sure you miss below the hole, otherwise, you could be in some trouble. I happened to find a few bunkers on the opening 9 and that may have been the best sand I have hit out of. All around great experience, great closing holes with 16 and the tough 18th. Highly recommend checking this course out, it is by far my favorite Disney course.
We are glad that you enjoyed your golf experience with us, and that you shared your feedback.
Please note that there are shower, locker rooms, and restroom facilities available with complimentary towels, shampoo, and soap available at each of our golf courses.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Walt Disney World Golf again in time to come!
