Disney's Palm Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 6840 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 73.3 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
The natural Florida woodlands provide a stunning backdrop to one of America's premier resort courses. Architect, Joe Lee, designed the 6,870-yard Palm with elevated tees and greens. The key ingredient, of course, was the Florida palm and he made good use of nearly every variety for aesthetic and strategic purposes. Its fairways are crafted through a pine forest of mature, natural woodlands that includes moss-dappled oak, maple and cypress trees. Palmetto scrub fills the forest floor. It boasts of more than its share of water and sand with nine water holes and 94 bunkers.
This is a perfect choice for everything from a casual round to a large group outing.

Great staff, tough greens
Props to the staff...they had a huge event that morning and handled it wonderfully. They set a gap between the event and the folks teeing off. It was perfect. We got around in about 4 hours even with 4 of the world's worst golfers teeing off ahead of us. They disappeared and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Great job to the staff. The course was WET...we've had a lot of rain lately...and most parts were damp. My only two beefs with a course are pace of play and bad greens. The greens were in rough shape, rain notwithstanding. I had a few putts that should've been makeable but was putting over sod inlay and other bad spots. Good tourist course. Not crazy challenging...but fun.
Wet
Course was pleasant and had a good time. It was still wet even though we hadn't had much rain in the last several days
Very wet
Lovely course but soaking wet, better to play in a months time or so.
Very nice and great staff
Everything you'd expect from disney. First class service and friendly staff. Course was in good condition, and was a great layout.
Rain soaked course
The prize for over compensating when describing the condition of the course goes to starter Bob who exclaimed that the course, fairways and greens were the best they had been for 10 years.
Sadly, by his own admission, Bob hadn't played the course for a while.
We were forced to play the back nines of Palm and Magnolia due to repair work and problems caused by the weather. In normal, Floridian conditions, these are excellent courses but we were losing balls in the middle of the fairway today...!!
Coke and tiny bag of nuts = 7 dollars. Bit steep.
I payed a lot of my holiday money to play this course. I've always enjoyed the experience but today, prices should have been adjusted to reflect the condition of the course. Also, my here clubs were a bit 'road worn' compared with the new clubs I was provided with last time.
So. These are great courses but grill the staff on booking to find out how the courses are playing. Finally, the greens on the Palm, usually very impressive, are struggling. due to the weather.
Staff were friendly.
Not a "magical" day!
Course conditions were disastrous. Cart path only and a lot of water on the course. This is pretty surprising as it did not rain the day before and we played another course the faternoon before which was in an excellent shape. Probably the course itself is not that well drained. Apart from that' this course is overrated. Staff is average' no beverage cart' the club house is didiculous! Value for money is poor.
4.674 stars
wonderful course! usually a great escape from the disney crowds. play it before the land is developed into homes/condos (I'm still very sad about Eagle Pines)!
Cart Path Only
This is the 2nd time I have played Palm in as many months, both times it was cart path only. There were a few wet areas, but the greens where good, however 1 or 2 had patches but the flags where not near them. Last time we bought 1 bag of pretzels & 1 bag of chips $7. this time we took our own.
Disney is always good to play especially if you can get the Hot Deals..

They changed courses on me without cotice
We reserved 18 holes on the Palm course, but when I arrived at the tee box, they informed us we would be playing the back 9 of the Palm course and the front 9 of the Magnolia course. Very bad communication on this... I was not happy.
You can do better
The course was in good shape, greens were too. Unfortunately the starter was not sharp and though we were ready at our tee time, he didn't send us out on time, wound up behind a foursome and a 2some....waited on every shot. The ranger came by once and never said a word to us. Shop staff was not knowledgeable about golf now or how the Disney reservations work. Bottom line, there are plenty of other great courses in the area that are much more accommodating. This one was not worth all we had to put up with.
Must play
The course was in great shape, we got about an inch of rain the night before i played, so the course was wet in some spots. The greens and fairways were in great shape. The rough is a bit high. The only thing i would say they need to improve on would be the bunkers. This is my second favorite course at Disney.
Unreal for the price
So it's a little bit of a drive from downtown Orlando. Maybe 35 minutes. Parking was free. Cost was 41.00. And it was the best value I have ever gotten out of 41 bucks. Course is absolutely perfect. I have played every good course in Orlando and there isn't a better course then the Palms. There are a few that might be just as good like bay hill and champions gate, but for the price it's unreal. Tough but fair course. All red stakes. And u will need them on a few holes that are OB left and right. Pretty tight course and from the tips was fairly long, but not over the top long. Greens were the best I've played on in a long time. Course layout was outstanding. Go play if you can get it at this value!
Great course for all skill levels
Plenty of room off the tee so you can break out the Pro V1's without going broke. Course is in excellent shape, nice large greens that aren't segmented like a lot of newer courses and the staff is fantastic. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the course since its in the Disney complex. I will definitely be back.
Greatest Place on Turf
This is the best golf course I have played in years, and I play over 100 rounds a year. The greens were PGA quality. The rest of the course was equally as good. The staff was friendly, the food on the cart was good and reasonably prices. This is definitely a bucket list course. Can't wait to play the magnolia course.
The Best of Disney
It has taken a long time to be able to play the Palm course, It doesn't drain well and can be muddy when wet.
Today after a dry week I decided to play it and with out a doubt the Palm course is the best. of the Disney courses. Conditions were excellent, the grounds are very well maintained, only the fourth hole was cart path only and it was still very playable.
The greens have a little sand on them, but putts ran true.
The only Negative is the noise from the Race Care track.
superb course
very good condition. greens fast but true. no hold ups pace good . tried to buy a green flag, but very expensive for what it was.
fantastic experience
What can I say, this course gets better each time I play. Over from the UK, puts us too shame. Brilliant value for money,c u in Nov.
Beautiful Disney Course
I booked my tee time as a single and was paired up with a gentleman who had just moved here from Ireland. We were sent out behind 2 or 3 foursomes. Even though we were only a twosome, the wait in-between shots was minimal. We saw the ranger out several times making sure things were moving along. The course was in great condition from tee to green. The only thing I would say is to ask at the club house whether there is a cart girl or not. If not, I would recommend getting some drinks to put in your cart as you do not pass the clubhouse at the turn. The course seems even better when you find a hot deal on golf now. I would certainly recommend this course.
Awesome
This course was awesome it was in great condition. Very friendly staff got me right out very well maintained. Greens were like glass. Will be back!!!!
