Disney's Palm Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 6840 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 73.3 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
The natural Florida woodlands provide a stunning backdrop to one of America's premier resort courses. Architect, Joe Lee, designed the 6,870-yard Palm with elevated tees and greens. The key ingredient, of course, was the Florida palm and he made good use of nearly every variety for aesthetic and strategic purposes. Its fairways are crafted through a pine forest of mature, natural woodlands that includes moss-dappled oak, maple and cypress trees. Palmetto scrub fills the forest floor. It boasts of more than its share of water and sand with nine water holes and 94 bunkers.
This is a perfect choice for everything from a casual round to a large group outing.

Excellent challenge and interesting reading of PGA Tour moments
Greens were firm, rolling true and quick. Overall course in good condition. Nice layout giving challenges and birdie opportunities. Always with a visit when in area
Scenic Course
Played Disney Palms on April 17th. Nice overcast day so it wasn't too hot out. Our group found the course to be in good condition. Greens were running super fast. This course is very scenic with lots of wildlife. We also played the Magnolia course and preferred Palms. A very challenging track...watch out for some of the bunkers as they are quite deep and difficult to get out of.
NO BEVERAGE CART THE WHOLE DAY!
Somewhere around 180 of us Golf Channel Am Tour players were at Disney for a 2-day am tournament and on Sunday on the Palm Course there was not a single beverage cart making rounds on the course, NOT ONCE. This is FL where it gets very hot and so this is very unacceptable, ESPECIALLY for an organization like Disney with the budge to staff properly. Also, when you play the Palm Course, you do not pass the clubhouse or a halfway house at the turn to purchase anything on your own. We finished the round so thirsty and hungry that made our experience a miserable one, no matter how we actually played that day. I cannot believe that Disney would let this happen on a Sunday when they have a huge tournament to service. I will NEVER return to Disney for golf because of this, but the courses are nothing special either, very average at best. I cannot believe the PGA Tour would have a tournament here, so Disney must be putting up big money to keep them coming back.
Great course
Lots of fun playing on a professionally played course with lots of history...It was in beautiful condition.
Loved every minute of the round...just wished I would have played better.
excellent course
It's always fun to play at a Disney Course. Great conditions and great staff.
Long time Favorite
I have played this course intermittently since it opened when coming to Orlando on vacation. Now that I am retired and a snowbird it is a regular option, which I occasionally utilize. I was reminded again two days ago how classy the WDW organization is, including how they maintain and run their golf courses. It is phenomenal to play both the Palms and the Magnolia and we will be back again.
Fun course
Course was well conditioned. Greens were reasonably quick but true. Par 5 green complexes were difficult to play in two. Bunkers were firm with little sand in base. Tree lining and water features were visually attractive. No 19th hole a little disappointing.
Weather
Course was in great shape we just had a bad weather day and only finished 4 holes, definitely looking forward to playing again.
Always nice at Disney
It's always a pleasure to play a Disney course because you know its going to be in good shape. Having said that the Palm course was in good shape as always and pace of playing was about 4 1/2 hours which is good to above average for Disney golf.
Well Done
Solid day from start to finish. Set up is a little weird as you pay for your round about 100 yards away from the bag drop and then get a ride back to your clubs, but once you get going everything is very well done. Range & putting green are next to the first tee. We all got to practice what we wanted in our own time. Course is in very good shape and greens are running with good speed. Used to play here a lot and forgot how good it is.
Great conditions
From the first tee to the last the greens were in perfect condition. Fast & true with the first and second cuts the way they should be. Good shots were rewarded and stray shots would give you a big score. Wildlife was abundant and the staff was great. Do yourself a favor and enjoy Disney palms golf course. Just have extra balls ready if you play aggressive.
always pga
Missed my alarm. But I they got us out 30 minutes later. Thanks for helping me scramble. Disney is always PGA quality!!!!!
Very good standard as usual
We have played the Palms on many occasions and it is always in good condition. Todays round was under 4 1/2 hours so this was a great time as well.
Will be back in a couple of weeks.
Palm couse 3/28/15
Due the rain from the prvious night there were four holes that you could not ride the cart on the fairways, while it was not an issue for me, for some people it could have been an issue.
Disney Palm
Course layout was beautiful. Lots of water need to be accurate off the tee. Extremly friendly staff. Only down side is pace of play. We were stuck behind a group of three taking their time. Played front nine in 2 hours 30 min. Not used to waiting on each and every shot.
More difficult than Magnolia
Played in the afternoon with "repeat rate" as we played Magnolia in the morning.
This course I found more difficult, but really enjoyable and more scenic.
Course conditions need more attention (both Palm and Magnolia) especially for the price you pay based on comparisons to other golf courses I have played.
Can't wait to come back and play. "Where dreams come true"
Course is no more maintained well
This course is not maintained as well anymore as it used to be. Specially fairways and arround the greens are in a bad shape. Greens are ok. I know this course since a long time - it's far away what it used to be.
Disappointed At Check-in w/ Pro Shop Staff
I booked a tee time directly w/ course 30 days in advance. When I did, I mentioned that my wife would be a rider and to put it in the notes so they would not be caught off guard and prepared for her and myself upon check-in.The confirmation of this from the pro shop person was satisfactory and comforting, (false comforting as it turned out). The fee for a rider is very reasonable and have paid much higher at other establishments.
They claim Disney is "the happiest place on earth" for guest. On this occasion this one employee "chose" not to back up their motto and accommodate my wife as a rider even after he saw and read aloud that it was in the notes. His apologies and cab fair offer for my wife were unsatisfactory. We chose Disney and flew across the country from the west coast to play here. For a local, his offer may have worked, but not for us! My wife drove back to the hotel sad and disappointed. My round was not enjoyable without her, no souvenirs were purchased and I left with a bad taste in my mouth about Disney golf. Course conditions were average and only one beverage cart parked at the turn was not impressive. TAKE YOUR KIDS TO DISNEY WORLD, BUT GOLF ELSEWHERE WHEN IN TOWN, all the same, trees and lakes.
