Disney's Palm Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 6870 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 131 and a 73.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
The natural Florida woodlands provide a stunning backdrop to one of America's premier resort courses. Architect, Joe Lee, designed the 6,870-yard Palm with elevated tees and greens. The key ingredient, of course, was the Florida palm and he made good use of nearly every variety for aesthetic and strategic purposes. Its fairways are crafted through a pine forest of mature, natural woodlands that includes moss-dappled oak, maple and cypress trees. Palmetto scrub fills the forest floor. It boasts of more than its share of water and sand with nine water holes and 94 bunkers.
This is a perfect choice for everything from a casual round to a large group outing.

Doubles playing together
Course was very nice, greens somewhat hard, but for February excellent course. When I golf I tend to like to be in a small group, they grouped us with another double. Only part I didn't care for. Other than that staff was very polite and prompt. Would definitely golf here again. Also enjoyed the pace of play was not hurried, steady but not hurried.
Not woth the money
I recently played at the Palm Course while on vacation and was extremely disappointed with the service and condition of the course. I paid $125.00 for the round and felt like I was playing on a $30.00 venue. The problems start with the
limited parking where I was forced to park on the grass. Next, you do not receive range balls which is
uncommon for a resort course. The course itself was in poor condition, , fairways had ruts and the greens were average. When I checked in with the starter I was moved back three groups because they could not manage the tee sheet. Lastly, the pace of play is very slow and I left after 4 hours and was only on the 13th hole. There are many other options for the money - hope this helps.
WET MUDDY COURSE
Very wet course, greenshard and dry, did not hold a ball. A little disappointing for a Disney course.
excellent experience
Golf course was in excellent condition, beautiful palm trees everywhere, lots of water, didn't mind loosing dozen of balls at all, just excellent experience.
Will do it again.
Disney Palm
Excellent course for as many people that continually play daily. Greens were excellent. A few wet spots but still great condition.
Not a great value
Fairway grass was super thin very muddy even though we have not had much rain. The high point was the greens very nice and fast. Yes it was a cold day and had a brief shower but that was not why the fairways were in poor shape. Will not pay those rates again to play here.
Palm Course is challenging but fair
The Palm will give you a challenge, but is not too difficult for beginners to enjoy the day. The course was in good shape, and while crowded, pace of play was acceptable.
Just ok
Overall course was good, no big complaints.
- No cart girl except at the turn, nothing on the back 9 either
- had to go back to the clubhouse to get balls, thought they were included. They didn't ask if I needed balls though, but were sure to ask if I needed rental clubs.
- course in good shape
Nice course, but noisy
Doesn't help that theres a huge speedway and busy road next door. Course was in pretty good shape though, greens were pretty slow but rolling true. I had played the Magnolia course in the past and found it to be a better course overall, and more challenging. Good deal if you got it on a hot deal, but would never pay the normal course rate for it.
Nice overall but ? For price
Very nice course overall. Greens didn't impress me as they were very grainy and slow. Lots of tight lies near greens.
nice course
everything was good except I was paired with father and son who were very slow and not much etiquette.
after the round there were no place decent to sit down and have a drink or eat .
Not as good as before
I played it about 8 years ago. I did not like it this time
Nice design, good conditions, but noisy
This is a good course that I can happily recommend. The design is varied and interesting, particularly the middle holes 6-12. It is fair value for Florida residents (just under $60 on a Sunday in December, when I played). We were the 3rd group off in the morning (7:16am), so played in under 4 hours.
Course conditions were good, with fairways reasonable after being recently punched and getting rain for a few days before (we had to play lift, clean and place due to the mud).
The greens -- which can't be more than a year or so old -- were in good shape. They were surprisingly firm given course conditions, although a bit slow. The did, however, roll very true. I'd say the greens were great, in fact.
The main drawback of the course is the noise. The first 5 holes play near the Magic Kingdom and along the road, so you hear Mickey and pals, the Disney train, and the traffic. I love all that as much as the next guy; just not on the course, where I prefer a bit of respite. On the back nine, the noise is from the race track, which is quite a bit louder than the parks.
Great Course
Great Course. Can challenge any player. A little slow play. Played the front 9 twice to finish before dark.
Great day for Florida golf
On one of the best golfing days in Florida, we were fortunate to play Disney's Palm course. The course is tons of fun - challenging but not too hard. The greens were great and the fairways beautiful. Great pace of play and wonderful staff. Thanks!
Disney golf
I found the course to tricky not all that long but a lot of water. Greens are fast and true.
I played off the second last tees and my friends played off the tees after the Reds, there was a big difference in length.
The course was nice and dry, bunkers in good condition. Good practic area and speed of play was good. I thought it would have been slow especially at Disney where you would expect family to be playing but no it nice and steady.
All in all a lovely course and some great holes.
Well worth a visit.
Awesome!
What a fabulous place to play golf! This was a perfect day! Course was great...challenging...beautiful!
Play one of the numerous other area courses!
Again, another letdown since Arnold Palmer Management started running the Disney Courses. We gave the benefit of the doubt last time, but this will be the last time we play any of the Disney courses. We had a tee time of 12:20 yet finished at 6pm, due to the 30 min delay in teeing off. We didn't see the beverage cart on the front 9, considering it was so slow, it would have been nice, she then went past us on the 15th. Serious back up on the Par 4 13th due to everyone thinking they can drive the green. We had three groups on the tee!! What has happened to all the great Disney staff?? The starter was a young kid who was clueless, he didn't know what he was doing. He had someone in his ear piece all the time, so he wasn't really listening to what the customers on the first tee were saying, as everyone was trying to find out if they would be teeing off any time soon. All in all a thoroughly disappointing experience with Arnold Palmer run courses. It's not the first time and probably won't be the last. It used to be great experience to play Disney courses, but now it just feels like profit before service. Having played many Orlando area courses over the last four years, I would say stay away from the Disney ones and go to Grand Cypress, Celebration, Championsgate, Waldorf Astoria, Reunion, Eagle Creek or even Mission Inn or Bella Collina. You'll have a better golf experience.
Disney Palm
Great friendly staff greet you when you come to The Disney golf resort
