Nice course worth the trip
First time playing LBV course and have to say it was well worth it. From the moment you pull up to the bag drop you are greeted and made to feel at home. The course was is nice condition. There were some holes under repair but believe it was from the recent hurricane. Pace of play was good and we were paired up with 2 singles who were very nice and enjoyable to play with. All in all a good day at Disney.
Course is fair but challenging.
Lots of water and sand. Course was in great shape and I would recommend this course to everyone.
Good but don’t expect Disney
It really was a great course. It was wet but understandable after the storm. If you’re going expecting a course with a ton of Disney landscaping and the Disney feel you may not experience it as much as you think.
Excellent course
Loved the course, staff very friendly. Definitely will return.
Not as great as we had hoped
I am 60 years old and my Father-in-Law is 84. We did not know that our round would be Cart Path Only until we arrived to play. 90+ degrees and the only rain in over a week was a shower the day before. I thought the Florida courses were all known for how great they drain and dry out, not this one. The fairways were very sloppy throughout the round. The greens on the front nine were in great condition. Receptive and true rolling. On the back nine they were terrible. Lots of muddy slop all over the course.
Nice course, but gets very soggy after rain.
It is a fun course and I like it. If it rains in the summer, the course has tendency to get very soggy. Many balls will plug and you may have issues chipping off ground that is saturated. It will be better once the summer rain stops.
Not much character for a Disney course
Our first round in Florida on this vacation. Pre-booked a week before, based on the weather forecast. On the plus side, it didn't rain! On the down side, it was VERY HOT - up to 98 degrees F.
On checking in, we were told Cart Path Only and carts would stop functioning if we erred on to the grass. So we observed that meticulously. Not all golfers did, it seemed.
The Starter was Vinnie who was very pleasant and explained the course was managed by Arnold Palmer Golf Mgt. and pointed out the features.
He explained the other Disney courses and their relative merits as we awaited our start time. He also said to expect a round time of 4 hours and 40 minutes. We are normally round in at least an hour under that.
For the most part, the fairways are VERY wide. So if you hit away from the cart path, you have a long walk from cart to ball and back. Signs encouraged you to replace and sand divots. Few golfers were doing that as carrying a trowel of sand/seed mix with your club from cart to ball seems pointless. So, basically no-one was doing it and the fairways had more untreated divots than anywhere I've seen. With the heat and slow play, my wife was starting to fade and so we gave up after Hole 14 and 3 hours 40 minutes into the round.
Lastly, and some may think this a little unkind. But this was a fairly BORING course. It is flat, tree-lined most of the time. So, surprisingly for a Disney-branded enterprise, it lacked "CHARACTER".
Worst golf experience ever!
My wife called the course, to make sure it wasn’t cart path only like the day before at Shingle Creek golf course.
They said that there were no restrictions, fine!
When we arrived on the premises it was cart path only!
After a few holes we noticed that the course wasn’t that wet but it was in bad shape.
The rough was so long that we only saw the ball when we came right over it. The fairways were also long, I was hitting flyers at every shots. We had also mud balls and to top it off, the greens were at 6 on the stimpmeter!
The only positive thing of our day was the staff. From Al the gentleman who greeted us at the bag drop, David the starter, Mark the marshal on the course and Tom when we left the course at the bag drop.
Will we go back there? I don’t think so!!
I’m a CPGA member and all my colleagues will know about my worst golf experience ever!
PS: My wife didn’t write the review,, I’m her husband.
Great staff
The course was great and the staff was the best. We felt welcome and respected. We were treated like royalty.
Had high hopes, but combination of multiple wet areas on fairways, slow greens and slower play left me disappointed.
Thank you for your feedback on your recent round at Walt Disney World® Golf. We apologize for the fact that your were displeased with the facilities that you experienced. We hope that you will reconsider playing our wonderful courses again in time to come, so we can exceed your expectations upon your next visit to Orlando.
The golf course conditions are difficult at this time of the year when we get back-to-back days of rain, on top of the fact that our golf courses struggle to drain excessive amounts of water having been built in the middle of Florida wetlands. With pop-up showers most afternoons, it is hard to predict what the cart path restrictions will be at the time of your play.
If you would like to discuss further what you and your group encountered during your visit with our management staff, please feel free to reach out to our leadership by emailing the specifics of your tee time to disneygolfreservations@palmergolf.com so that we can help resolve your residual concerns.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us!
