Sabal Trace Golf & Country Club

On the first hole I was stuck in the mud, because the dirt cart path was covered with old plywood, and had 1 foot deep ruts. The staff was very helpful getting me out of the mud and back to playing golf, but the course was not well kept. Many greens were patchy and spotted with weeds. It's hard to tell where the fairway behind and the rough ends. Excellent staff that just needs some support so they can get the course up to par.

Heavy rains make this course a complete mess. This is unfortunate because the layout is good and the holes are interesting. There is no drainage. Consideration should be given to redesign the course to provide drier conditions. I will not play there in the foreseeable future.

Tough to make an accurate review because course was taking on lots of water recently. Standing water in many spots. Greens were marginal at best.

This course was by far the worst maintained course I have ever played!!!! There were know fairways, it was like it hadnt been mowed in months, it was all rough throughout!!! The bunkers were a mess, and the greens were horrible!!! I will never play there again or recommend this course to anyone!! I'm surprised a course in such poor condition is even able to stay open!!

The ownership at this course has not mowed course in well over a week. The ranger himself admitted that they were very close to going out of business. At check in they said course was very wet due to the prior nights rain. In addition we have no one to push you out. So as ownership that cared for their course why would you allows your course to open? , knowing that the the rough is 12" high and the fairways at 4" high. The drives would land in the middle of the fairway but balls were unable to be found. I can understand the rains but when tee times are booked on your site their is no refund. I constructed golf courses for 15 years and this by far the worst course I have ever played. So as a customer of yours I would think that you would remove this course from the list of offered courses to save you from loosing any future customers.

Greens are truly horrible.. layout is good and
at 6200 white markers, good distance..
Bunkers and greens need serious work, but a good practice with your woods and irons.

I am a 10 handicap. My wife is a beginner and my daughter a beginner/int. player. I decided to find a cheap tee time for the three of us to play. Even at the $9 rate for 18 riding, it was not worth it at this course. hacker course? not even. The fairways were terrible with clumps of weed patches throughout. The sand traps were ridiculous with weeds here and there and clay like sand. And the greens were worse than all the above with 3" holes all over them and patches of sand. My wife, the beginner said it was the first green she had seen with a sand trap ON the green. Don't even bother to be lured by the low fee. Not worth it!

Needs a lot of work on the entire course. Need to schedule mowing at a different time,not when you are ready to tee off,and you have to wait for then to move out of the way. Some of the greens were really bad. Played the course for the price, I will go back just for the price.

Minimum maintenance, very poor condition, despite previous days of rain, it was obvious the course has not been maintained for quite a while.

Fairways not in good condition. Some greens under repair. Had a very slow fligt before us. Played fornt nine twice becaus no signs to let us overtake

People in the line up kept asking each other what time their tee time was.

would only recommend to a friend for after noon prices. course has had a lot of play this year. when we first golfed it in Nov. , it was in MUCH BETTER SHAPE.

Sabal Trace has an interesting layout and lots of potential for an enjoyable round. The problems are that they appear to be only interested in obtaining 6 minute tee times, not interested in course conditions and it all makes for a negative employee and client attitude.

GOOD - price was right $20 for 18 with a cart after 3pm
- staff was good

BAD - Course was crowded at start, slow play thru the first 9,,, no marshall present to speed up play. Back 9 fine,

- some greens and tee boxes were in REALLY bad shape, but overall course in decent shape.

We golfed after 12:30 pm and the pace of play was great. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Condition of course not bad for late March. Great value for our money.

It has a great layout but it seems neglected in some areas.Took 5 hours to play the course. Waited on every hole and every shot. There were 2 -3 greens were in very poor shape. Greens were slow, could hear the ball rolling. Bunkers were OK. Some lies in the fairways and rough were patchy. Would play again if I had nowhere else to play.

Three or four of the greens were in poor shape and needed some repair and maintenace. The rest were fine, but a little slow. Course quite dry, but mostly due to lack of rain this winter.

It appears as if no resources are allocated to course conditioning and maintenance. The course is always busy and booked but very little revenue or effort is allocated to its primary asset. The greens are very slow and inconsistent (sand patches on some). The fairways have many areas that would be considered ground under repair at most courses.
With so many good courses in the area, it's difficult to understand why this one is so frequently booked. I will not return.

This by far was my worst experience at any golf course in Florida. I consider this a cow pasture. The greens are a mess and hard as a rock with sand spread over them. The cups were cut up in the air so you couldn't make a putt. They dont know how to set a cup or maybe too lazy to do the job right. The greenskeeper needs to look for other work. I am a greenskeeper in Las Vegas and I would be absolutely embarrassed to say I worked at Sabal Trace. Can't say enough bad things about the course. Green Fees should not exceed 15 dollars per round. Terrible place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
