I got lucky with a pitching wedge and landed about 15' from the pin. The pin placement this round was tough with holes tight to the front edges. Photo submitted by knichola on 08/19/2013

Course in great condition
This is the best course in the Orlando area that is available at a reasonable rate. Starter was very friendly. I play it whenever I can.
Great course!
Very well maintained course! Very pretty views and greens are in excellent shape! Beware of the fast greens. Very hard to get the ball to stick, very hard and lightning fast. Very challenging greens but forgiving course. Had a great time!
Great shape
Every year I play two weeks in Orlando and this is the best course in the area, if you get a chance play the north-south courses
Great experience
We would highly recommend Grand Cypress. Course was in great shape. Played East/North. North is a bit more forgiving and East is a bit more challenging and gorgeous out there. Staff and facilities are top shelf. Make sure you look up Eddie Kasper, 1st class gentleman.
Must Play List
If you want a high end golf experience and a challenge - you want to play here. This place will put a smile on your face! Ever golfer should experience this level of service and golf at least once in their life.
Good conditions, great pace of play
Course was in very good shape and we played in just 4 hours. Back 9 on the south course quite challenging.
Course layout good with water and plenty of bunkers
This course has intersting layout. Fairways good , bunkers good, undulating greens very good and quite quick. Would play it again and definitely recommend .
First class golf club. greens were very challenging and exciting. very picturesque layout and fun to play.
Pace of Play - BAD
Pace of Play: First 9 was good (2 hours - nice), then we made the turn. Back 9 took 3 HOURS! As drove up to 10th tee, a twosome out of nowhere pulled in just ahead of us. We asked if they were in correct tee box. They said the starter sent them there (Strike 1 against course management). As we were a foursome, we said to go on - big mistake. Somehow a single joined them a few holes later. As we played we noticed a fivesome (strike 2) on the course - odd. Then about hole 12, pace of play slowed. The threesome in the fairway ahead had the cart girl come to them in the middle of the fairway (strike 3 on cart girl training)!!!! -- we waited and waited. While one member continued to chat with the cart girl (the other two were now on the green), we hit and walked to our balls. The single member continued to chat up the cart girl in the fairway nearer the cart path as we waited in the fairway. The next tee box we reported the delay to an approaching ranger. He went forward. He came back and said he asked them to move on, but this threesome was delayed because of a fivesome (another one) ahead of them (strike 4). The ranger said there were 2 open holes ahead of the fivesome, and he advised them to move faster (did not make them pick up their balls - strike 5). He said even though a fivesome was playing, there were only four bags (strike 6???).
"New" Course: A lot of hype about it's design similar to St. Andrews. To a limited degree that was true, but if you've been there it's not that big of a deal. In both cases amateurs hit into and from adjacent fairways, double greens mean groups are on each other's greens, and pot bunkers cannot be seen from tee boxes - must use smartphone GPS app or course guide - to avoid bunkers in the middle of the fairways. The condition of the back 9 seem to worsen as we went along.
Overall, not a fun day and wouldn't repeat playing there.
Not what i expected
The course could be excellent or may have been in the past, but the greens were terrible and slow. They must have had a problem and there was significant burned out areas and they compounded the problem with some kind of granular fertilizer it seemed. We should have complained. Usually the fee you pay is comparable to the course. Beer cart was great. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was expected this time of year. No issue with the course layout and fairways were fine...just not worth the fee. Wish I had taken pictures of the greens.
Busy
Grand cypress east/north was a fun track. Conditions were great overall. Greens slower the. Expected. Resort needs to give out free divot repair and starters give instruction on fixing divots cleaning bunkers. I rate four out of five. Not on value though. Play less expensive courses with better conditions
A well run operation
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
The course was in very good condition.
It was busy but played in 4 hours and 12 minutes.
Amazing Course
This is easily the greatest course I have ever played. We got a deal on GolfNow for $60 each and it is a course I would have definitely payed $120 each for. Incredibly stunningly beautiful course with an amazing layout that really challenges you in a very fun way. The greens were fast and true, the traps were perfectly raked, the fairways were beautifully manicured, the rough was challenging but well kept, and the tee boxes were beautiful. You can tell that a lot of thought and hard work went into this course and it has payed off. We were in front of a foursome and behind a foursome but we were never held up at all. The ranger does a really good job of keeping things moving. Everyone on the staff is super friendly and they dont even seem to care about working for tips. They are happy to do their jobs. On a course this nice you usually expect to run into some jerks but everyone playing the course was nice and friendly. Would absolutely recommend this course to anyone if they are in the Orlando area. I will be back
Always a good round
The place is amazing and the layout is extremely fair but also challenging. Always play this when I'm in Orlando, great bar/restaurant for after the round and a must stop. Pro shop has great selection, though staff was not as friendly this time, but still ok.
Excellent in all respects
First time playing the course and thoroughly enjoyed. Some tough holes, particularly on the south course. Finished in just over 4 hours as a foursome so all was good.
Great day
Course is tough but fair on first time players at Grand Cypress.
