Halifax Plantation
About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Love the layout.
The course is challenging with Fair.. it was well manicured.. we'll be back!
Over priced over priced over priced!!!!
I always feel like i get ripped off when i play this course. Always something that is absolutely trashed, greens very poor, fairways womp womp..etc... very poor. Never has been and never will be worth the money! 10-20 dollars more then all the other public courses and always in the worst condition for the local public courses. A disappointment to say less!
Pretty good layout. The ruff (anything off the fairway) was a hot mess. Needed to be mowed if your ball was in the ruff it was pretty much lost. The individual working the Pro shop on The day we played, had the personally of a person that either hates his job or did not get his morning coffee. If you play here, don’t expect any “nice” feelings while checking in and take a few extra balls because if you miss the fairway you may never find your ball
Enjoyed course on vacation
I annually play golf while visiting Florida each summer. This year, I chose this course. Had decent reviews that I believe were accurate. Tee boxes were a little weedy. Fairways were really nice. Bunkers were hard sand, which is probably hard to manage in rainy Florida. Greens were soft, but fast. Cart paths were half dirt, half concrete. Nice restaurant, pro shop and driving range. Cart workers were very attentive when I arrived to give me advice. As someone else mentioned, pretty amazing there is NO water stations to get water on course. I filled up my water can in the bathrooms I drove by on the course. Overall, I'd play again.
I’ll never play here again!!!
The state is Florida, it is July 6th with the outside temperature of 95 but the heat index was 106, for a golf course to not offer drinking water throughout the course or have a beverage service (cart girl) or a drinking fountain at the two restrooms on the course is absolutely pathetic and insane! How have you missed the warnings about keeping hydrated? I will never play at this course again!
Great shape
If I were to complain it would be that the cement cart paths in some areas are in need of repair.
My Local Favorite
The greens are always excellent - quick and challenging. The cart guy mentioned that there were a couple areas of the fairways that were discolored due to treatment, but it didn’t hurt the experience. Looking forward to playing it tomorrow with the adult kid.
Tee to green 1/10, green condition 9/10
Halifax has a great layout and the greens were fantastic but the tee box, fairway, rough, traps, and fringe are horrible. Tees, fairway, and fringe was shaggy and thin covered in weeds. The tees had 2-3” tall grass/weeds and forget the driving range. The greens could be on $100+ courses but the rest deserves a $20 course.
Very Fun
One of my favorite courses in this area. Greens are the reason you come here, very fun and it adds strategy bc you don’t want to go above the hole or it’s a 3 putt! Disappointing to see prices have gone up especially in the summer. Tee boxes and fairways are rough right now but it is summer at a beach course. Only complaint would be that the old lady in the pro shop needs to learn how to smile. Cart guys are awesome though, make sure to tip them a 5er
tee boxes
Few of the tee boxes were a bit weedy! The fairways were starting to get a bit dried out buy over all the place was in good shape. Greens are fast.
Disappointed.
Greens and bunkers were fine but nothing else had been cut. Price is higher than other local courses and Mondays round was not worth the money
FUN COURSE
The course has a really interesting layout. Great pace of play. Everyone that worked there was very professional.
raised
It used to be a 5 star for value but they've raised prices. They resodded the greens roughly 2 years ago. It's ashame there are small blotches of a foreign grass on the greens that alter your lines. Still a good course and we enjoy it.
Great Day for Golf
We were in Daytona for Welcome to Rockville, and set some time aside to golf. Tried Halifax based on its reviews and availability. Definitely glad we did! We got paired up with two gentlemen that we absolutely clicked with. The course is well kept and the greens were challenging enough to make it enjoyable without being ridiculous. I’m sure we will be back next year when Rockville hits Daytona again!
