Halifax Plantation

About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Great shape.
Course was in great condition. But the mosquitoes were really bad. But I was prepared with bug spray!
Bring OFF bug repellent
First time playing the course and the conditions were top notch, fairways and greens were in great shape.
The course was a good test also.
When we hit the 8th hole there must of been a breading site somewhere because our entire group was getting hammered with mosquitos non stop you would have 7-10 on you at all times. It subsided after 9 but it was brutal I would have quit if there was any sort of slow play.
Don't sleep on Halifax Plantation
Pros: Wonderful staff, the course is in great shape. Greens were amazing and rolled true. Really impressed with the layout and course conditions. Everyone working there was pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The blue tees are the tips. I usually play one up from the tips. Our group (shout out Tyler and Jacob) didn't figure it out until the 4th. Beware the open tee box between the blue and white!
No beverage cart. A definite con on a 100+ day. Water is supplied at the 1st and the turn.
My 2nd visit and I'll be back.
Loved...
Loved it great layout even greater greens. Definitely coming back
Beautiful layout great character
Beautiful course helpful staff. Iconic ‘old Florida’ look with Spanish moss cover trees, coquina boulders and wildlife. Very buggy summer conditions and not close enough to the coast to get a good seabreeze, but worth a stop and priced well.
Solid option
First time out here and everything was pretty good except for the bunkers which could’ve used some help.
Layout was fine, nothing super interesting, but would definitely play again for a hot deal
Grerns
Once the greens tecover from aerating the course woll be fantastic
Florida Golf
Course was in overall great condition. Green had been punched a few weeks ago, but were growing back with only a few small bad spots. They were a bit slower than the course normally plays, but rolling fairly smooth. Bugs were in abundance! Bug spray is a must, and even with that I had to come off the ball to chase away a few skeeters. Range balls were a bit expensive though.
Aerating
Will be happy when all the aerating has grown in. Place was amazingly good prior to doing it.
Course was in great shape. Green just about healed from aeration but putted true. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed playing this course.
Slow players
I just wish there was a way to penalize players that don't let you play through.
Nice course
We are actually going back but also because we want to have dinner at the pub.
Dependable Course but pricey
This course is always in decent shape, although the greens had been punched 2 weeks or so ago and hadn't fully healed. (and we weren't notified at booking).
The round took 4.5 hours with a modest amount of waiting time. Not sure why it took so long.
Greens speed was a little variable and the practice green was slower than the course greens. Balled rolled true despite the punch holes.
All in all a good round but the course likes to think they are above the other courses in desirability or conditions, and over $50 in the summer is not a great value (my playing partners had a $59 base rate - I got to prepay. A little upset with Golf Now for not letting me prepay all four rounds.)
