About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Tee boxesand greens
This is a long wide couthe tea boxes need some help and some of the greens need some help. No bear spots. I noticed, but weeds on a lot of them even though they will mow down, your putts are Hopping on alot of the greens. Overall great place and will be back.

Nice time. No one out there, greens fast. Pretty wide open not too much water

The greens are slow and bumpy... just aim at the hole!
The course is fair and the greens are all a little elevated... maybe an extra club?
Needs more grass on the fairways and less Weeds on the putting surface. Halifax is a nice tract and doesn't deserve to have the greens in such a condition. Just a little more TLC will keep the course in good shape.
NEEDS HELP!
Drought conditions are evident throughout the course. What grass there is sparse, patchy and rock hard.
The greens are an area that are being watered but are very slow and bumpy. Bare spots and sanded areas are prevalent on many.
Rates have been increased recently and 3% credit card surcharge also has been added.
Plan on spending over $50.00 for 18 hole round.
Really?
Don’t get rentals and ask if they mowed the greens tat day. If not those little patches of different grass will throw the ball offline. Really frustrating. Love the layout. By the way, Stay away from Friday morning. Men’s completion. Tee time was 1/2 hour late not to mention the slow play!!! Otherwise very picturesque!
Needs a lot of TLC
Played this course many years ago was looking forward to playing and seeing how it had matured. The layout is very nice, neat properties in and among. Fairways badly needed a good cut, no run on the ball at all. Greens quick but patchy with weeds, pin positions were crazy, my husband struggled with them and he plays off 7 handicap. Played LPGA Jones course the next day for a similar price, it was fabulous so we'll maintained. Would not recommend Halifax Plantation in its present state.
Needs TLC
The reviews we read on GolfNow were pretty much on the money. Tee boxes were terrible, the fairways were not cut, and the greens were fast with grass patches that needed to be addressed. They were sending out foursomes to close to one another. Five hours with a lot of waiting. We played with two people that were nice to talk to, so it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been.
