About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

What ever they charge is to much.
Be advised that all 18 greens are temporary gteens, all 18 plus the chipping and putting green.

Greens
I absolutely love this course. I wished that tee off would have been notified the the greens were killed and they had temporary greens moved back onto the fairways. U would have liked to been able to spend my money somewhere else than to use it on something worse than a shag rug. Please keep all parties involved on a situation like this. I do look forward to coming back to Halifax in fall when the greens are restored.

Every hold had temporary greens. I wish that I would have known that before booking

Halifax
Maybe I missed something when confirming my tee time, but if I had known that they had temporary greens I wouldn't have played at Halifax.
Just before going out I was informed by my golf buddy that the greens were being replaced.
At which time I was told that there are temporary greens by a group of golfers going to the 10th hole. At that time one of the cart guys told us that they won't be fully ready until possibly "August"!!!
I won't be back again until after then.

Major reconstruction of greens
We had fun. It is an open fair test of golf with reasonable tee choices. However, they are rebuilding all 18 greens so we had to play on temporary greens that were not yet mowed. Putting was a joke. Black mark against GolfNow for not advising the green situation in advance. The temporary greens will be in use all summer. Could be a good place to play next winter. No water !

Temporary greens for a while it looks like
Was not informed that all greens had been treated and killed before booking or when I arrived. Temporary greens I was told would be used starting next day. Shame this course used to be very nice and in good condition. Will have to wait and see how the work on the greens turns out months from now.

No greens
Save your money and play elsewhere. Course staff or Golfnow did not disclose greens were being replaced. Temporary greens were a joke and you could not even putt on them. I feel I should be refunded my fees due to course conditions. I only played front side I was so disgusted with the conditions

Halifax condition
They are re doing the turf on all the holes and so they are currently in bad condition. It will be quite awhile before they are back up to good conditions so play at your own risk....

Improve the course by replacing management
My wife and I played this course while dodging sprinklers on every hole on the back except the par 3s. On one hole, the sprinkler went on next to us as we prepared to hit the shot and soaked us. This is the second time this happened. The first time, we did the sprinkler dance on the greens. I didn't complain then but did this time. The pro told me to talk to the General Manager. Since the day we played, I have sent 2 emails to the GM. No response. That probably explains why the course is in bad shape and needs a facelift. The tees are uneven and the fairways and greens are littered with weeds and bare spots making putting unpredictable at best. The facelift should start with the replacement of the greens keeper, the golf pro and the GM. When you are accepting money from the public to support a semi private club that can't sustain itself on its own income, your customers deserve at least a response/apology from those in charge when a complaint is made.

Course is fine and in good condition. Some tees and fairways a little thin and a few greens with problems.
Overall fun day and a nice layout.

Greens
The absolute only thing that hurts this course is the greens and the last time they were starting to repair. Have not play there in 3 weeks. But absolutely will be back

First time playing this course. A very good experience that started with the staff; was paired with a local retired couple that were great to play with. I will be returning to this course soon.

Teetering
I’ve played this course before and was willing to give it another chance. It has potential, with a good layout and environment. A few issues that are red flags as to the health of the club would be the sparse pro shop and some “scabbed over” areas of some greens. Are you losing some greens ? If not Mark them as ground under repair and do something about it...some tee boxes were sketchy but fairways were very nice. I would play again at a value rate but I’m worried this club might be slipping a bit....
