Halifax Plantation

We were not notified until we were at the course that all the greens were under repair. They were using temporary greens on every hole. Course was in fair shape. Slow play behind lots of leagues. Dissapointed

If you haven't played here before you may want to wait for the Green replacement to be completed but if you just want to take advantage of some cheap prices on a moderately challenging course with temporary greens and nice fairways this might be the time. We enjoyed almost all the play with the exception of the temporary greens. Degree of difficulty of the greens? At least a 12 .. Lol :) Staff was very friendly and the facilities, carts etc. were good. I'd play it again without hesitation especially at these prices.

Name and location made it sound like this was a nice course. And to be fair it could be a fabulous venue. However, no mention was made of temporary greens when I booked it. T boxes were really beat up and much of the rough so deep it was difficult to find an errant shot. Tree lined fairways most of the holes. Low price should have indicated there were some issues.

We never played the course. They were redoing the greens and I refused to play on them. They put a temporary hole in front of the original green. Course refused to to refund anything and GolfNow said it was not able to be canceled on the App even though it was before the tee time.

Temporary greens and tees par 3s were 30 yards and par 5s about 250. Would have been better if played in field. No mention on GolfNow when I booked absolute waste of time and money quit after 5 holes. I have played bad courses before and even enjoyed a few of them this was the worse.I think more irritated at Golf Now if I had called pro shop to book likely they would have told me

No clue they were temp greens when I booked. Initial outside services guy was great, club pros seem bothered to be at work. No attempt by the team to provide accurate yardage due to improvised green, when I offered constructive feedback as an industry insider I was shrugged off. Tipped outside services on my way out, didn’t even wipe down my clubs or place them in the car. Originally a good layout, management is uninspired. Indicative of others other area . Golf courses which Have recently gone out of business… Sadly

Typically this website informs you of course conditions such as aerations but unfortunately not this time. Did not find out they are using temporary greens until after I paid for the round and was already there so still played. Don’t even take your putter once on the green!

When we arrived we where told that all of the greens are under repair. Temporary “greens” are in front of the greens, in the fairway. The tee boxes where chopped up. The fairways looked likes they had not been mowed for awhile.

I don’t know what happened here, this course “was” the premier place to play. What a shame to let this course suffer.

I’m willing to give it another chance, in a few months.

Golf Pass, has some responsibility also, for not informing golfers of course conditions.

Good round of golf. Lots of complaints about the temporary greens but it could have been much worse. Nice fairways and overall course.

The course was laid out well, and the pace of play was fast. I.e., it was not crowded at all. However, the greens were being refurbished and we had to play temporary greens all the way through. Not so fun. But other than that, the course was fine. I'll play it again later this year when the permanent greens are back in play.

I love the layout of this course and will be back when the greens have healed. Not into temporary greens. Should be spectacular again by the fall.

The course layout is awesome. Little to no water is my only gripe but elevated greens with crazy break on almost every hole. The greens are in the process of being redone but definetely playing it next year as they will be crazy fast. Definetely a tournament quality course.

This was a great course to play while on vacation. The greens were being worked on so we had to play on the alternate greens. Other than that the course was in a amazing shape and had extremely nice staff. The pace of play was nice, and overall we had a great time

They are redoing their greens so they have temporary greens. The course is being neglected and it was not enjoyable to play. If I knew there were temporary greens I would not have booked through golf now. I know they have something in their “fine print” but an extra warning before booking would be appreciated.

I played here for Father Day with my son and brother. What a freakin joke. All Holes have greens made in the fairway before the regular greens. Can’t putt on a fairway. FYI. Never were told on this app or at check in. Probably why they require prepaid in app. The guy cleaning cart said they hope to have it complete by Aug. -Sept.

I won’t play here again even when remodel is done out of principal. Don’t like being taking advantage of. The course should be closed or severely discounted.

This was one of the best courses in the area until recently. They are in the process of replacing all the greens and now have 18 temporary greens. There was no mention of this when checking in and they still charged the full rate. The tee boxes are in bad shape, the rough is, well, rough all weeds. The only good part of the course was the fairways. To all that remember what Tomoko Oaks was like towards the end; this course seems headed in that direction. I really hope they can turn it around in the next couple of months. I can not recommend this course at this time.

They are renewing all 18 greens at the facility. Not good to play there now.

Nothing on golf now that said they had temporary greens it would be one thing if a few greens were under repair but all the greens are tore out and they stuck a flag in the middle of the fairway no updated yardage and not even mowed short to resemble a green tee boxes in terrible shape uneven will not be back. Golf now should have had something on site

Great layout and will be a great place to play in 2022. Temporary greens until 8/2021. Poor condition everywhere but fairways are good. Someone is fixing green complexes first and this will be a great course. Just need to give them time to do it.
