About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Bushy greens
The fairways, tee boxes, sand traps were all in excellent condition, however, due to bad rain and frost issues the greens are hurting. They are growing back and so the greens are very slow. Very friendly staff, will play again when we are back in town next year. I really love the layout and trap placement makes for a challenging course (fore us 85 and above hcp).

Fun Winter Day
Beautiful day for golf on a warm winter day. Pace of play was slow with lots of mixed groups.
Tees and greens in good shape, but some Fairways thin.
Overall a good day and a fair bargain.

Good value nice course
First time playing here with our group of four Enjoyed our round. Long course not much water hazards but quite a bit of sand! Would play again

Overall Good Layout
Good layout and very playable. The greens are in poor condition, unputable and dire need of being replaced.

Fungus amungus
Sadly the course conditions are terrible. Fungus has decimated half the holes and the fairways and greens are badly damaged. Maybe spring growth will turn things around but for now, don’t bother

Conditions were bad
I've played this course several times. The greens have been marginal for a long time. Today they were just bad. Half of the greens were infected with some kind of disease which made sections of the green unusable. Several fairways were bare. Most of the holes had no rough - it was just leaves and dirt. Additionally, the management was charging $20.00 in order to ride alone in a cart. With covid-19 still affecting people it seems unconscionable to charge to ride separately. I will not be returning any time soon.

You could do better
I play this course every week because i live here. The layout is pretty good. No forced carries and no water to speak of. The few places they have tried to introduce water are dried up and just weedy. Fairway grass is sparce on many holes and the greens are patchy. The greens fees are high for what you get and they charge extra if you want your own cart so as not to ride with a stranger. Prices in the bar are high, too.

Halifax needs to Plant some greens
First time playing Halifax Plantation.
I liked the course a lot - except for the greens which were fair (with lots of sand dressing) to terrible.
The fairway grass was very sparse, also.
Nice facility, nice bar.
With better greens it can go to 5 out of 5 stars.

Overall nice golf course
No problem checking or playing pace was great, greens slow. Overall needs a little work, but still enjoyable. Range great.

Good Track
Like playing this course, challenging but not overly difficult. Need work on the greens, especially the front nine and parts of the fairways need some loving as well. Worth the money to play!

Nice layout, friendly staff , currently in poor condition
Course empty this am as the chilly weather kept players away according to pro shop. Was able to play two balls and work on some things as there was no one behind me.
Tee boxes over seeded and fine however fairways are dormant and no sign of over seeding ...grass very thin . Greens were over seeded and were sanded this week but are also in poor condition and slow. Not a rake to be found . Have to think warmer weather in a month or so will kick the growing season off and conditions should improve .
