About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Nice layout, friendly staff , currently in poor condition
Course empty this am as the chilly weather kept players away according to pro shop. Was able to play two balls and work on some things as there was no one behind me.
Tee boxes over seeded and fine however fairways are dormant and no sign of over seeding ...grass very thin . Greens were over seeded and were sanded this week but are also in poor condition and slow. Not a rake to be found . Have to think warmer weather in a month or so will kick the growing season off and conditions should improve .

Nice course at a good price. Twosome played out in 3 hrs.

The course is in poor condition
The greens were terrible. Very sandy and slow !
No grass on the fairways. You as nice as the place looks, it was a real disappointment.

Nice
I’ve played here many times as a local snowbird. Pace of play today was great. Staff very nice. The cart guys did a great job of tweaking the pairings, I was a single, to optimize the pace of play. Course conditions are pretty consistent, , some poor greens, it’s what it has been for many years. Range was beat up but that’s what is their norm.

Course is greening up nicely. Some greens are patchy otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Disappointed with course condition
Nice day for golf but course conditions left a lot to be desired. I expect the bermuda grass on tees and fairways and rough to be trampled down and some bare spots on the tees during winter months since the grass is dormant. But the BIG problem was horrible conditions on the greens, especially on the front nine. There were many, many large areas with NO grass and piles of crusty soil. In addition the greens were so bumpy that it was evident that they haven't been rolled for quite awhile. There just isn't any excuse for such poor conditions.
The staff was generally friendly and the pace of play was very good, quite probably because word is getting out about course conditions.

Halifax golf course
Took my son-in-law and two grandsons to play. Had a great time. Would do it again.

Layout is best feature
Arrived at course with reservation confirmed with golf now by email and charged to credit card. No record at golf course and no help what so ever from attendant. Paid again and played. Layout was excellent, difficulty fair, fairways mostly below average to fair, many greens poor with hardened bare spots. Would I play again, probably.

Staff was very nice
Great layout that was in pretty poor condition.

Needs tlc for turf
Lack of grass on some fairways and greens makes for challenges in shotmaking, love the layout, 4- 5 years ago conditions were much better, not just a recent issue. Price good, staff great, better than not playing at all.
