About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

needs some work
There are a number of greens that are in poor shape. Get those taken care off and the course goes back to a 4 star rating. The layout of the course is very good.
Great Golf Course & Price
Nice golf course, great price. Course was in very nice condition. Staff was awesome. They have a driving range to warm up. I will probably play this course again and again. No problems with golfnow, easy checking as soon as I arrived.

Wide fairways
Course suffering from lack of water. Front 9 greens in poor condition back 9 much better

Minimal expectations
Friendly staff got me on the course right away, not much water on this course. Fairways in good condition but several greens had some fungus patches and were rough and slooowww. I might play it again for the value though, depends on what other options present themselves

Greens still in need of repair
We are close to Halifax and enjoy the course but the greens are still a mess, They have been working on them but there is still along way to go. Greens are still showing signs of the previous damage and you can not get a true roll until the grass comes completely back. The course and clubhouse personnel are great as usual but the course still needs time to get back in the great shape it was two years ago, Looking forward to playing there again once the course is in better shape.

Staff
I've only played here a few times and one of the maintenance guys (won't let me say his name) greeted us when we walked up and was instantly rude. Sometimes I really don't care. But this dude is a you know what. Meanwhile they don't have enough carts for everyone so everything is backed up. Got stuck behind a older couple, not a big deal but the pace was horrific. This same guy has the nerve to come up to us and say pick up your pace as we're standing there waiting for the couple ahead of us. Exactly what am I supposed to do? I'm not hitting them? Overall course is fun. Greens are rough but getting better. But if that guy is there that day, be prepared to get mad and have it ruin your game.

SLOW SLOW SLOW
As usual, slow play is a constant problem at Halifax. And the greens were SLOW SLOW, probably o more than 6-7 on the stimp meter. Really makes for an unenjoyable round. No excuse Halifax

Rough green conditions and fairways
Maybe it's off season. But seems to be water issues on property. Needs fresh renovations on greens and fairways.

all nine greens on the front nine had at least 30% mud patches without grass. used to be able to count on Halifax for great condition until it last ch
all front nine greens had at least 30% mud patches on them without grass growing. only played the front. tees and fairways getting sparse. there has obviously been a decision made to shave maintenance costs even though houses going up every where around it. used to be able to count on Halifax for great condition until it last changed hands. terrible to ruin such a beautiful layout and the undulating greens. Course was packed.

Fun track
I love the layout. Open, roomy fairways make this a second shot golf course. Stretch of 11-14 is beautiful with river views. Staff was great and pace of play was awesome. Unfortunately, the fairways are thin and the greens are struggling right now. The course has been overseeded and is extremely wet. However, I would definitely play again.
