Viera East Golf Club
About
Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

Course was in pretty good shape, nice tee boxes and fairways but the outside staff wasn’t what I expected. Mentioned I worked at a different golf club and one of the staff proceeded to tell me how awful it was and how many awful experiences he’s had. Not too professional but overall had a good experience.
Front closed due to aeration
We were surprised when we showed up and they told us the front nine was closed as it was being aerated. We played the back nine twice. It was in good shape. The problem was we had prepaid and the rate was lower because the front nine was closed. Since we used the Golf Now Hot Deal and prepaid, we couldn’t get the cheaper rate.
Exceeded my expectations
I had a Sunday afternoon tee time, and my experience was excellent. I was a single, so I was able to get on the course early, and for the most part, I felt like I was completely alone. The greens were fast, but fair, and the course itself was in awesome shape. I would say better than Duran (the most comparable course nearby), but less expensive. I will be back.
Great Greens
Course was in great shape. Greens were nice and fast. Dave the starter was very friendly and informative.
Best conditioned course in the area
While most courses in the area are struggling with lack of rain, this course is in great condition. With a new irrigation system, the fairways are green and the greens are running fast and true.
Nice course to play
Played on a pretty warm day. Fairways were firm and I received some decent roll out. Tees, fairways and greens all in good shape. Minor problem patches on a couple of greens but other than that rolled true and pretty fast. All in all a pretty good day on the course.
Good course for what I paid
I wouldn't pay what they were normally asking for the greens fee which was $70, but at the $35 that I paid, it was worth it.
Break From Baseball Tournament
I was in the area for a baseball tournament and decided to play a round. This course did not disappoint and I will certainly play it again when in the area.
Course is the most expensive in Brevard County.
I've played here many times and enjoyed it but over the past few years it's gotten very expensive. In addition, they don't allow walking on the weekends, and when it's allowed during the week there isn't a discount for not taking a cart. In my opinion there are other courses in Brevard County that provide a better value.
Heard good things and they were true
Great staff, well maintained practice facilities and course was fair but challenging.
Recommend this course
Course is in good condition and an open layout. Friendly staff. Love playing there.
Viera East
Second time playing this course. Pace of play is good. I’m glad that staff fills out to a foursome when possible. I wish more courses did this. It makes the pace of play better and more enjoyable. You might even meet a few good people!
No credit
Had to prepay $18 to book a two person $54 round, when I got there the staff had given that credit to someone else,, wouldn’t give me the credit, so my $54 round cost me $72. Ridiculous
Very incompetent gentleman at the pro shop
Love Viera east
We played the green tees. Was great for us seniors but will probably move up to the seniors tees as I get older. The clubhouse and cart guys and starter were great. Had a beer and wings afterwards and service was great. Pace of play was good. We finished in about 4 hrs (foursome). The course also was in good condition
18 Holes, 5 Hours
The title says it all. Absolutely no course management here. Pace of play is a free for all. Plus the "members" playing so slowly in front of you are just rednecks with a bit of money. So expect perfect incivility as you're waiting for the train of foursomes to shift like big-city traffic. I was appalled. The sand crane chicks, though, traipsing on the tee boxes were quite endearing, I have to say. Go elsewhere.
