Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

Pittsburgh visit
Nice course. Guy in pro shop wasn’t very friendly. Starter was great. Nice course for $50 for 18. Greens little bumpy. Would play again
Nice Course
Nice layout, no real blind shots like some courses, greens ran true and medium fast, course made you play some smart shots to score well.
Only real HUGE disappointment, hole #13 par 3, my wife got a hole in one. They don’t give you anything, not a free shirt/golf towel with their logo, not even a free round of golf.
But they would order her a plaque that would cost us $40+.

Course is in great condition, nice driving range good practice putting area no chipping green and bunker to practice. Wide fairways and a good layout.
Favorite course in Central Florida!!
We are snowbirds always looking for new courses to try. This was not our first time and it never disappoints!! Love the course layout, scenery, and staff - from pro shop to cart workers! Highly recommend to any level golfer!

Terrible customer service
Ive played this course many times, a little overpriced but good course. I go in on friday. It was busy. I asked if the guy could get me and my buddy out to play. He looked at me like i was an idiot. He says “we are booked solid til 4” which was 2 hours away. I had looked on golfnow to ensure the course had a tee time before we got there. So we told the guy at the pro shop we saw tee times on golf now. He proceeds to tell us, there is a twosome at 3. Why would he say we are all booked up if they had open tee times? Then he tells me well i dont even know if i have a golf cart for you. WHAT?! Absolutely terrible customer service!! Needless to say i will not return and i will not recommend this overpriced course to anyone.

Best Conditions Ever!
I've been playing Viera East since it opened about 30 years ago and have never seen it in such great condition. From tee to green the course was just spectacular. As usual with my reviews I will provide pros, cons and a summary.
Pros: Awesome conditions. A great practice facility with putting green that is identical to actual greens. Great food and superior service. Lots of tee choices so golfers of every level will be able to enjoy their round. Decent pace of play. Friendly and active marshal. Carts are new, fast and smooth.
Cons: It's a bit costly at nearly $100. That's it really. The only true "con"
Summary: Considering the conditions even the so-called "con" is countered and this is a must play course. In a county literally filled with mediocre courses with benign and boring layouts Viera East uses the land to its advantage offering lots of scoring opportunities while forcing players to think their way around the course. The greens are fast, smooth and true and will test even the best out there as a three putt is only a downhill slider away. And perhaps best of all was the Mushroom Swiss that was huge and absolutely cooked to perfection with fast service by a friendly waitress who was both funny and professional. Overall this is one of the best in Central Florida folks. From practice facility to the course, tee to green and lunch afterwards, I HIGHLY recommend this course!
Good value
By Florida standards this is a good course - typical hard fairways and very fast greens make control difficult - in exchange for longer drives!
What were they thinking???
I like the course and staff but they need to stop over booking the course. Our tee off was delayed by 20 minutes because of an early shotgun, which made play slow. They then thru a 4 some in front of us at 10 even though there was no space to do it. After 5 hours we got to drive home:(
