Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

The course was in good shape…
We could only play the back 9 because there was a ladies league on the front 9 which wasn’t brought to our attention till we showed up. We could have played the back again or get a 9 hole rain check… we took the 9 hole raincheck & we’ll be back… we have the 9 hole rain check & hopefully we’re not charged an outrageous amount to play 18… the Pro issued the 9 hole rain check & was willing to work with us. One of the best maintained courses in the Cocoa and Melbourne area
Fairways and greens are the best maintained in the area justifying the slightly higher price.
Refurbished bunkers are fantastic
The reworked bunkers were in fantastic condition, with new pristine white sand. The greens were true and running around 14 on the stimp
Good course conditions
The greens were quick and rolled pretty true. Fairways were in pretty good condition. Tees were a little sparse in some places, but generally pretty good. The work on bunkers in recent months is paying off - they are looking pretty good.

Bunkers redo, fun course.
They are in the middle of redoing the greenside bunkers, free lift. Fairways are good greens are rolling true, some rough areas that need attention, overall in good shape if you don't mind the heavy equipment on 18.
