Slow Play
The course was packed, so needless to say, it was a slow round. They could really use a ranger! The course wasn’t in very good shape, but the back 9 seemed a little better than the front 9. It was disappointing.
Parking was limited because taken up by tree removal and trimming activity.
The 1st tee staging area and access path were filled with noxious fumes from roof cleaning activity.
The starter was overwhelmed by the number of golfers and could not remember who his pairings were.
Worth a play.
Thought the course layout was good. Course is under new management and hopefully they will be able to bring it back to par. It is a challenging course Ian’s you need to be able to hit your ball as straight as possible on your lines. Greens were sneaky fast for this time of the season.
Pace of play
The course isan average course, but very reasonable. The pace of play is ridiculous.
Was 20 min late starting because of cart shortage. Pace of play was abysmal. Other 2 player in group quit after 9 because of nonstop waiting. 3.25 hrs in at 12, we decided to skip ahead to an open hole, little did we know there were no open holes and every group we passed voices their frustration of nonstop waiting. Was a very slow 12 holes, hate wasting greens fees but it was not even enjoyable. Will not be back.
Scheduling problem
The course was way too busy. It took almost 3 hours to finish 9 holes and this was on a Thursday. We left after 9 holes. The course was in OK shape and the staff was friendly but until they get their scheduling right and can improve the pace of play, I would avoid.
30 minute wait for our 2:30 tee time. Only finished 16 holes.
Friendly staff. Very undulating greens that are in good condition. Could use a few more rakes on the course. Enjoyed the course challenges and layout.
Aweful - Shame on the new owners
Until yesterday this was my favorite course. Lovely setting, challenging, nice greens, fair price. But yesterday was straight out of a bad movie. No starter. 5 groups in line to tee off. Several twosomes that could have been paired up weren't. The pro shop assigned me to a threesome that wasn't there. No carts available, so I had to walk the on deck line to find a threesome that was willing to add a 4th. Finally got started 40 minutes after my tee time. Had to wait for two groups on each hole. I had a 115 tee time so I should have been able to finish well before sunset but no joy. Doubt I will ever play here again as the new owners are now pushing a player development program that will surely make for extremely slow play in the afternoons. Ugh.
Pace of play was way too slow……but I love the course…
Golf
Always fun to play somewhat challenging layout fairways a little beat up this time of year greens are in good shape t-boxes need a little work staff is always accommodating
A value priced public course. You kinda get what you pay for.
Course is somewhat tight and many of the holes have fairways where they slope towards water hazards. If it’s your first time playing here make sure you keep your tee shot of the half of the fairway away from the water.
Greens rolled ok but there were probably 4 or 5 greens h that had burned out and the grounds crew did their best with cuttings the holes away from the damaged part of the green.
At some point they must of had a restaurant and bar service but those were not operating so don’t expect to have a post round refreshment at the course,
It also appeared those who had afternoon tee times were waiting for carts so if they are busy didn’t expect to go off at your scheduled tee time as there was a big backup on first tee and there were several golfers waiting for carts to come in.
