About
Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Duck Duck Goose
First, know that this is a city course. The people running the place could not be nicer, but the conditions were terrible. Scrubby brown fairways and the greens were in really tough shape. The biggest issue was that the course was overrun by Canadian geese and covered in their byproduct. We left after nine holes because it was positively disgusting. Shoes and clubs were a mess. For $100 a person, this was a very disappointing experience.

Be much better on CLEAN UP! Could not believe it!
There is hope for this course as a nice layout and a good challenge but wow I've never seen so much litter ever in my life on a course, period! I couldn't believe it and it was so distracting to see so much. Took five pics as proof.
You pay lots of money to see a course in shambles litter wise. Can't the gm or pro shop manager not send out staff to pick up so much litter on a reg basis??? In so many bushes and plants etc everywhere. Was so weird to see this and so often!
Friendly staff though in person but as well I called two times before my round to make sure I was in the system and to reserve clubs and no answers and left voicemail and NO call back! This set my back a bit to begin with.
U need a much better clean up crew! Most turn a blind eye on such as guests go and maybe even litter themselves but I do not ever! I just couldn't believe it!

Course is a typical Love design with challenging undulating greens. Nice to see some pines and water on a desert course. Played on a very windy day but still enjoyed the course layout.

Course was beat. It was probably a great course. Many many many years ago the photos you show on your website are probably also 20 years old would not play it again would not recommend it.

Horrible conditions
Had to wait for carts and consequently started 30 minutes late. Things got worse from there. Conditions were bad. Course is in terrible shape. Fairways were dirt and rocks.

There is trash everywhere
Trash everywhere on the course. Greens and boxes in complete disrepair. Out of town rate should not be $150.

Fair, low budget course
The driving range is closed and unattended. Start time was 45 minutes late. Pace of play was painfully slow. No course marshall or refreshment cart. Fairways and greens were in fair condition.
Given the cost of the trip would have been better to pay a few dollars more and go elsewhere.

Poor conditions and pace of play
This Pete Dye designed course has an amazing layout for a shorter course with undulation and challenging greens. The greens were in good condition but the rest of the course was not. Fairways were dead and it felt like you were hitting off concrete at times, it was essentially just dry packed dirt. The round took longer than five hours because it was so backed up. I would spend the money on other courses in the area until course conditions improve.

Hard to play behind a 6some
Got there a little early to hit the range. Range closed because they don’t have enough balls. They said I said I could go out early. By hole 3 I caught a 6 some and was stuck between 2 groups as a single. Not an enjoyable day and left before I finished. Course is interesting. Probably more fun if you play it more than once. Was more expensive and not as nice Z other courses I played

What happened to the driving range can’t even use a driver on the Mats with no Tees. Cart girl disappeared after 5th hole. Greens were beat up and fast. Fairways and rough is dead. Course needs a major repair. People left ahead of us it was so bad. Only go if your desperate would not play for $30 unless course was fixed

Overpriced course in bad condition
I’ll start with the positive, the team there was incredible, super friendly and supportive. Unfortunately the positives stop there. The range is off the oldest mats and the balls literally had zero dimples. I paid around $150 and the course was in such bad condition. There was trash everywhere, some tee boxes were dirt, the sand traps some things in there that shouldn’t be on a course. It’s a shame because the course could be challenging and fun but the round really wasn’t enjoyable. Unless management puts money into upkeeping the course, just stay away.
