Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently situated just minutes from the Strip, but this Las Vegas golf course feels much further away thanks to a scenic landscape of towering, mature pines and six sparkling lakes. Over the years the course has hosted several major events including Frank Sinatra's Celebrity Classic and Las Vegas Invitational. It has a versatile layout that offers plenty of variety and shot values, which makes it appealing for a range of different skill levels. The par 4s and par 5s require long, accurate drives but the approach shots will test your iron game. The golf course also features undulating fairways lined with bunkers and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain boasts a comprehensive practice facility that includes a 16-acre driving range with 40 tees, five practice putting greens, two chipping greens, and two practice bunkers.

It’s getting better

The course is getting better. The greens are pretty green now. In March they were horrible. Fairways are kinda brown but it gives you roll! Maybe they should try to get better and more visible yardage markers. Other than that pretty good golf course

Not bad, but not great

$70 is steep for the shape of the course. Greens were consistently bumpy. Some the fairways were dead. Pace of play was under 4 hours which is ideal and friendly staff. $50 should be standard pricing for locals when it’s over 100 degrees out. Worth checking out if you haven’t played before.

Worth checking out

This course needs a few little things that will make the experience a lot better. We had a hard time finding a trash can or a place to refill a water bottle during our round. Not a huge deal, but mildly annoying. The people are very very cool and the course is under new management per the starter. They also have a new greenkeeper who still has A LOT of work to do.

Overall, we had a really good time. It's overpriced for what it is but so is all of golf in Vegas this time of year.

I look forward to playing this course again next year as I think it will be markedly improved.

Horrible greens

I played this course a couple years ago and I decided to give another try. The course itself is a good track. The tee is. boxes were good. The fairways had some bare spots, but what you expect this time of year. The bunkers were in good shape. The biggest disappointment where the greens they were extremely slow and extremely bumpy no way you could get a true line while putting. Very disappointing. The overall course is average to Good, but better options are out there for the money.

Nice Course

Great deal! The course has a nice layout and it was a better price than most vegas golf courses. Quick pace of play also. No beverage cart though.

Great for the price

Pretty nice course, great layout and a little challenging. The greens need some work though, lots of dead patches and bumps that need to be rolled out.

Greens were terrible

Greens were just punched a week earlier and they also had too many bare spots. Should have been told before playing and should have received a discount for there’s course conditions. I will likely return but not satisfied with this past experience

Needed better info

It was strange than mid/end of May they had recently "ninja" punched their greens. They were not mowed well, had grooves, sand, small holes even after the "happened a couple weeks ago". A little birdie told me that their maintenance crew mowed them when frozen and ruined them causing the punching. It was pretty cold a couple of weeks ago for Las Vegas and maybe there was a low 30's morning, but still strange for this area to punch greens.

Whether I can or can't accept the reason/rational, GolfNow needs to be in touch with golf course conditions. I can't say if the courses website communication this, but if they did, good, if not, then that's bad. Either way, the price did not seem to be lower. My cheaper rate was only becuase I used a $10 coupon from GolfNow and points with a hot deal. Without the hot deal it would have been the "normal" price, which should be lower when conditions like that happen.

That said, Stallion Mountain is what it is. A nice track, average shape normally and normal price.

Stallion Mountain

It's been a few years since I last played Stallion Mountain. The fairways were drier than I recall from the past but I'm very aware of the Las Vegas water situation.

Horrible greens and terrible turf.

A “cow pasture” with horrible greens. Pay the money to play elsewhere. Friendly staff not enough to overcome the putting experience that resembled rolling a basketball on a sandy beach.

If you’re serious about your golf, go somewhere else

The layout is fine, the people are nice and friendly; but the course conditions are terrible. I can forgive dry, hard baked fairways but what I cannot forgive are trashy greens. I’ve played at courses with greens in bad shape but I paid $50 not $200. There wasn’t a green that was smooth anywhere. Every hole was nothing but bumps. Like I said, go somewhere else.

Early May Tee Time

Staff and service was great, carts were in good condition, and layout was good. Only one hole gave me any anxiety because it had a road to the right and in the line for any slices. The greens could definitely be better but otherwise the overall experience was positive and I would play it again.

Avoid

The course was in terrible condition. We had a 10:18 tee time and started at 10:30. Front Desk , Starter and Marshals were very nice. There was a five-some in front of us as well as a twosome. Play was at a snail’s pace. The course itself was in total disarray. Greens were bumpy and burned out and the fairway were terrible. Grass was sparse and dried out, patchy. Bunkers were rocky with the plastic underlay exposed. We paid $95 a person and left playing only nine holes because we were already at three hours.

The Greens @ Stallion Mountain

The greens were not in the best shape

🫣. They did not roll and were very bumpy. The course is decent enough in the fairways and the signage is excellent for knowing where the next tee box is located. in a pinch I would recommend and play this course again.

It’s okay

My opinion is that this course needs some TLC. The greens are the worst I have seen since Craig ranch! Fairways are ok. The ball really runs lol. There is about 4 or 5 holes that a tree on the left hand side protects the fairways! What’s that all about? CUT THEM DOWN! We are NOT PROS! I believe that $70 for a round is a little high for the conditions

Compared to others around the Vegas valley $50 would be a fair price until it gets better
