Stallion Mountain Golf Club
About
Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently situated just minutes from the Strip, but this Las Vegas golf course feels much further away thanks to a scenic landscape of towering, mature pines and six sparkling lakes. Over the years the course has hosted several major events including Frank Sinatra's Celebrity Classic and Las Vegas Invitational. It has a versatile layout that offers plenty of variety and shot values, which makes it appealing for a range of different skill levels. The par 4s and par 5s require long, accurate drives but the approach shots will test your iron game. The golf course also features undulating fairways lined with bunkers and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain boasts a comprehensive practice facility that includes a 16-acre driving range with 40 tees, five practice putting greens, two chipping greens, and two practice bunkers.

Golfer Reviews
Greens were very slow and the cups looked like they hadn’t been changed in weeks.
Hidden Gem
The course was well maintained, mostly green, a challenging but fair layout, and overall a pleasure to play. Whatever maintenance issues existed in the past have been fully resolved. The Pro Shop is also run by some of the most honest people you'll ever meet. I left my passport with a stack of cash in a golf cart and an hour later it was returned to me intact.
Still improving
The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. The rough was a bit tall but not bad. The greens are still being worked on but are better than 6 months ago. The greens will probably take at least another year to recover. Still a good value for the money. Staff is great.
Early Morning Tee Time
It was great to tee off at 5:30am and get done in 3 1/2 hours. We were third-off and kept up with 2 threesomes in front of us. Conditions are ok, greens a bit slow and fuzzy but with the heat I imagine they are watering a lot. I play here when I want to work on hitting straight - there is very little trouble tee to green if you keep it on the fairway. Played white tees at 6,100 yards.
Big Improvements
I have been playing it regulary for the last couple of years and it has seen some rough times. They have really done an excellent job of getting the course back into shape. you get a real variety of hole layouts and the course can be fairly forgiving making it an enjoyable outing.
Great course and staff
Was able to fit in an extra player with no issues. Starter was great showing us first tee location and bringing us water during the round. Will definitely be coming back.
Course
Golf course itself was in great shape. The people very nice and friendly. The only complaint I would have is the pace there needs to be a. martial out there telling people to pick up the pace a little bit.
Always a good round
Always a good round at stallion. Course was in decent shape for July and 115 degrees. Always friendly staff and starter. Play here at least once a month.
Best course for the price!
I was pleasantly surprised, the course was awesome, the play was slow and comfortable, the staff was great and hospital. A great course to build and grow your game on. Highly recommend for beginners. I will be back and think this is my new favorite course.
Excellent place to play
Staff was very friendly and helpful and the rental clubs were great. I’d definitely play here again.
Kra
I enjoy golfing at Stallion Mtn, been there 10 plus times this year, staff is friendly, fairways are good, some areas need some care, greens are good and should excellent in a week or two after their airification and top dressing done a few week’s ago, one of the better values for the money
Greens are greatly improved
I have played here once a month for the last 4 months. The greens were almost sand 4 months ago and they are greatly improved. The staff here is friendly and the amenities are very nice.
Another great local value!
First time playing the Stallion Mountain course. I found it challenging for my level of play. We played on a Monday and the course was not very crowded, making for a relaxed pace of play.
Worth a try...in a few more weeks
Enjoyable layout. Some of the fairways were tight, putting a premium on accuracy off the tee. That can be a challenge depending on the wind speed and direction. Fairways were good, Greens were rough and slow. They have still not recovered fully from a recent aeration as the pegboard is still visible on all the greens. The putting surface was like putting on an astroturf doormat. From the moment you strike the putt, you can hear it rolling across the grass like it was 100 grain sandpaper.. The greens were generally in good condition, they just need water and to be cut closer, or rolled. The practice area was very good. Pace of play was excellent. As a single, playing two balls, I was able to complete my round in 3 hours. As a first time here, it was difficult to know where to hit it at times, but mostly there were not too many blind shots. Hole #17 is a killer par three, especially if hitting into the wind. One of the better values for golf in the Las Vegas Valley..
It’s getting better
The course is getting better. The greens are pretty green now. In March they were horrible. Fairways are kinda brown but it gives you roll! Maybe they should try to get better and more visible yardage markers. Other than that pretty good golf course
Not bad, but not great
$70 is steep for the shape of the course. Greens were consistently bumpy. Some the fairways were dead. Pace of play was under 4 hours which is ideal and friendly staff. $50 should be standard pricing for locals when it’s over 100 degrees out. Worth checking out if you haven’t played before.
Worth checking out
This course needs a few little things that will make the experience a lot better. We had a hard time finding a trash can or a place to refill a water bottle during our round. Not a huge deal, but mildly annoying. The people are very very cool and the course is under new management per the starter. They also have a new greenkeeper who still has A LOT of work to do.
Overall, we had a really good time. It's overpriced for what it is but so is all of golf in Vegas this time of year.
I look forward to playing this course again next year as I think it will be markedly improved.
