Delaware Springs Golf Course
About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Delaware Springs in good shape.
Played Delaware Springs last week. Course is in very good condition. Greens are moderately fast and well manicured. Course is challenging without being needlessly difficult. Pace was good but no marshal keeping things moving. Slower players refused to let us through so we spend more time on the course than we wanted.
RGood Value
We live about 30 miles away and we come to play here several times a year. Always a good time.
Very Enjoyable
This was my 1st time to play Delaware Springs and really enjoyed the course. Very fair, but not easy. Course was in great shape and pace of play was great. Will definitely come back!
Great Hill Country course!
Delaware Springs is one of my favorite courses. The greens were a little sanded this time but still rolled really nice. This course is always in great shape and the staff is wonderful. A little bit of a drive away from Austin but well worth it.
old favorite
well organized, good shot values, pace of play has improved mightily (or we just got lucky!). We had a lot of fun!
Beautiful hill country course
Love this course. Have played it several times in the past 4 years. It is well worth the 100 mile round trip. Plan to play it many more times. Grass in the fairways is better than most residential lawns, and the greens are great.
Great hill country course that is fun to play
This course and facilities offer so much. I feel relaxed and at home here. I really enjoy the experience of playing golf in the hill country. The golf course is challenging and fair with a nice variety of scenic holes. The green fees are quite reasonable particularly considering the quality of the course. The course, including the greens, is typically in excellent condition. At times, the greens are fast. A few of the greens are particularly challenging due to slope and undulation. It's a good idea to respect the speed of the greens when you are above the hole. The bunkers have white powdery sand. There are some nice views of mesas in the distance on a few holes on the back nine. I like the practice facilities, too. It includes a driving range, short game practice area including a sand trap, and a separate putting green. A small bucket of balls is only $3. The restaurant and dining area are nice with an excellent selection of food, snacks, and refreshments. The dining area has large wooden tables and chairs. There is also an outdoor pavilion near the clubhouse. In addition, there are nice restrooms near the middle of each 9. Doug and his staff are really helpful and welcoming. The pro shop has a nice selection of equipment and accessories for very reasonable prices. Where else can you get a quality wedge at a discount and a chicken salad sandwich?
Great Course
Delaware Springs is always in great shape, Greens can be really challenging.
Great Course for a fun round
Delaware Springs is always in good shape, although it has a moderate slope rating it has it's challenges with sand, water and off fairway rough. My wife likes the course especially because for women it's shorter and affords an opportunity to shoot a good score.
Best Course in Hill Country
Doug and Tony alway's have this course in top condition. Love playing here.
Had a great time greens were a little bumpy fairways outstanding played in 4 1/2 hours could have been finished in about 4 but play was very slow overall outstanding value
One of Kind Experience
