Delaware Springs Golf Course
About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Two hours and 45 minutes to play 9 holes
Horribly slow pace of play. We weren't going to come close to finishing the back nine, so I asked the proshop for a rain check for nine holes at a later date when they weren't as busy. The staff was agreeable to this until they saw I had booked, (and pre-paid) through GOLF NOW. The staff then acted as if it was our fault for using GOLF NOW, and refused any recourse other than me taking it up with GOLF NOW. If the Marshall would have spent less time helping people find their mis-hit golf balls, and more time encouraging ready golf, this would have been a much better experience! I have used GOLF NOW for at least 20 years all over the country. I feel that given the driving distance to the course, (85 miles for 3 of us), at least a 50% refund is in order. Thanks
Great course well worth the drive
Great condition and challenging course. Facilities and staff excellent and friendly and will recommend this to any level of golfer
Had a blast
first time at the course. it was in great shape, really fast greens, fairways were generous with their roll. Deer everywhere and very senic.
Great time
Course was in great shape even after all day rain the day before. Staff members were very friendly and helpful.
Will definitely play there again.
DS 12/9/2024
Course is always in good condition and Staff is friendly also. My only complaint is that the Nokn Group that goes off every day never gets policed like a normal foursome does.
Played behind the last Noon Group Monday and they were consistently behind the group in front of them.
Will play as often I can
Great course. Challenging for me as a novice. Water came into play on one hole. Several sand traps that require some strategy. Greens were fast
Fun course with fast greens
Played in a threesome had beautiful weather, and the course was in decent shape. The greens rolled very fast and you had to commit to your putts. Our pace of play was good. We finished 18 and under 4 1/2 hours with a little bit of weight at some of the tea boxes for the foursome in front of us.
Good experience
Pace of play average. Grill food and prices are great. Staff was professional and helpful. Driving range does not have nets, so couldn’t warm up with driver. Cart person provided good coverage during round. Greens were very good. Sand in traps was above average. Overall, a good experience.
Awesome greens
It's been several months since I played it but I always find this course in great condition. The green are awesome and quick. Looks to me like they have made some improvements, like the cart paths were worked on and look great. You can't beat the deal at this course. Only suggested improvement is to flatten/level the hitting range tee box area.
Always a great place to play. Best course in my opinion on the area
MISTREATMENT OF A DISABLED VET AND SERVICE DOG
I've been playing at this course for over 15 yrs and this last time I played on the 14 November, I brought my 5 yr old well behaved Service Dog as I have in the past. The course was totally backed up with the weather being beautiful that day. I checked in with my Service Dog without any problems.
But as I got to number 17, because I started on the back nine first, I was approached by the Superintendent of the course and was told that a complaint had been called in that I had my Service Dog and he had to be on a lead! And he also questioned me by asking if I could prove that my Service Dog was legit. I told him it was and then I asked him if he knew the Federal Regulations on Service Animals in which it was very obvious he didn't know the guidelines.
He stated that players behind us were complaining that my Service Dog had to be on a lead and I corrected him and told him that it did not. My Service Dog had accompanied me at this golf course quite a few times and never got any complaints for having with me on the course. He was not using the bathroom on the course or doing anything that was slowing play down. The superintendent just tried to relay a message from someone that didn't know the federal regulations and he was being manipulated by someone whom I believe it to be a member or members at this course and they were getting him to come tell me that I had to have my Certified Srtvuce Animal on a lead which is not applicable to a Certified Service Dog.
This was clearly harassment by the Superintendent as well as those who were playing right behind me or behind them. But I told the Superintendent that I was following all guidelines that allow Service Dogs on this public golf course and that my Service Dog is protected by Federal and State laws that it can accompany its owner without being discriminated against.
I give this golf course a zero for professionalism on this day and failure to comply with Federal and State Law Regulations and I filed a complaint with the Federal Government as well as the Department of the American Disability Association on the fact that I was clearly being harassed by the golf course superintendent without cause. It was as clearly an unprovoked incident that should've never occurred and it had been duly noted that these violations go against the American Disabilities Act in clearly discriminating my rights as a Disabled Veteran with a Certified Service Animal.
I have as informed that my case will be filed against the Delaware Springs Golf Course, Burnet, Texas and was informed that if this issue happens against in the future that actions will be taken against this establishment for failure to comply with the American Disability Act.
Golf near Marble Falls
My friend and I played while on vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Best bang for Buck in Burnet county
The course is in immaculate shape! Everything is so well maintained for a public course, very forgiving as well.
Always enjoyable
Always enjoy playing this track. Greens always in better than average condition. Nice mix of holes that are playable for all handicaps. If you like deer, you will enjoy this course. They are everywhere.
