Delaware Springs Golf Course
About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Fun course
This course was a great course for play any time of the year. We played after the course had about 2 inches of rain and the course drained very well. Greens were in great shape and doorways very good. This was a fun round of golf.
Pace of play was horrendous
It’s a nice course and it was fun but the pace of play was so slow that it ruined the round. Took an hour to to play 3 holes. The Marshall came by 3 times on the front 9 and didn’t say anything until after we passed the slow groups on the turn after 4 holes the Marshall came to us and said we had to hurry up because they’re was no one for 2 holes in front of us?? There wasn’t anyone waiting on us or even on the same hole we were on waiting? Lol idc it’s just weird that’s when they decide to say something. Not the 3 hours it took to play 9 holes. A group of 3 of us played the back 9 in an hour and 10 minutes but we were the ones that got called out for being slow
Great course conditions!
After some recent Central Texas rain, the course was the greenest that I’ve ever seen. If it weren’t for the 100% humidity it would have been perfect!
Pace Needs to be Addressed
Love Delaware Springs and have been making a 45 minute drive to play it for at least a decade, but the pace of play has become atrocious. The last two rounds I've played there have each been 5+ hours and marshalls do not care. Stacking 8 minute tee times doesn't help. I've also walked off the course in the last 12 months after 9 holes because of how slow it is there.
Will probably play here a lot less moving forward, which sucks, because the course is great and is in phenomenal shape. But standing on every tee box for 5-10 minutes isn't my idea of a good time. The staff desperately needs to address the issue.
Another beautiful day at D’Springs..
Have been playing at Deleware Springs the last few years and find the course in virtually the best condition it’s been in…. With the exception of the fareway on 17.
The fareways and greens are in excellent condition, and always enjoy my rounds there. Will be playing there again next week….
Thank you for all of your hard work and services….
Tee to green one of the best kept gems in the Austin area. It’s in great shape!
The yardage is short, but it offers a few tricky holes. It's well-maintained and definitely a satisfying spot
It was absolutely worth the 1-hour and 20-minute drive. I had a great time thanks to the friendly staff and the well-maintained course. Even though a junior tournament was held here recently, the fairways were still in excellent shape. The greens, however, were a real challenge—they were very fast, and you definitely need enough backspin to attack the pins aggressively. Due to the recent tournament, the green conditions weren't perfect, but they were still great for the price. I've added this to my list of regular courses and will be recommending it to others. I hope they keep up the good work!
Great Layout - Poor Pace of Play
Loved the venue and condition of the course. Player assistance- marshal needs to keep people moving. Too many players on the course at 8minute tee times intervals and a 5 hour round which should be 4:15 doesn’t bode well for a weekday
One of the best city courses around.
Course was in really good shape despite the two HS Golf Tournaments that had just finished. Recent rains and a good effort by the staff made it a wonderful afternoon of golf.
Weeds on green
Everything is great as usual except for the weeds on the greens. They are really bad right now.
Windy…. Yet a pleasure as always
Played during a windy Texas late morning/early afternoon; which was as pleasurable as always. Think that the wind and potential rain kept the “fair weather” golfers home… thanks y’all.
