Blackhawk Golf Club
About
Blackhawk rests on the site of an old dairy farm, where the rolling terrain is suited for this links-style layout. This wide-open course features lots of water, loads of bunkers, and huge greens that are easy to three-putt if your approaches are off and you don’t have that feel for lag putting.
Each side has a punishing finishing hole. No. 9 is a monstrous par 4 that plays 464 yards. Off the tee, the narrow landing area is not conducive for the necessary booming drive, and the water causes problems in the fairway and around the green.
Hole 18 plays 430 yards, requiring a tee shot into the dogleg-right fairway that must thread two bodies of water.
The club prefers that you walk only on weekdays.
Getting there : Take I-35 north out of Austin, then exit FM 1825 east. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 685 and turn left. Drive another 2.5 miles to Kelly Ln. and turn right.

Price reflects clientele and conditions
Course is rough, but the pace was worse. Got stuck behind not one but two groups of 2 that had no clue of etiquette. My back 9 was spent waiting 10 minutes between shots.
Know what you’re buying
Dirt and weeds on the fairways. Sand pits covered over with grass. The course isn’t in good condition, but it’s playable especially for a beginner like me.
Lots of potential
Too many weeds, I love bright colors balls in the middle of the fairway every week. They cut the grass but the weeds are insane. Fair prices and tee times are readily available
My buddy and I played in just under 4 hours. Greens were in pretty good shape on most holes. Fairways are green after recent rain. 2nd time I have played here in the past month. Buddy kept saying it was better than he expected. Will be back! Be sure to bring your own water! None on the course and no beverage cart.
Worst course ever
If I could rate this 0 stars it would be to much. This is the worst course I have ever played. The greens, fairways, and tee box’s had more sand on it than the beach. The whole course is under repair and bare spots and rocks littered the fairways. For $60 this was a joke. Honestly worst time ever playing. The pace was 6 hours!
Not as bad as I was expecting
Pace of play was excellent (group of 3, finished in 3.5 hours). Course was definitely in playable condition. Still needs work on greens (overwatered all around the green) and fairways (pretty dry and not well kept), but I enjoyed my round. Played Sunday morning, no water barrel and no beverage cart. I would play again, but $60 still feels overpriced... but I guess everything feels overpriced nowadays.
Also, getting into the golf course for the first time was terrible bc of the construction out front. Need better signs to find the place, but you got to take a little path through the barriers. Not super clear depending on which way you are coming.
Nice greens
Pace of play awesome greens were nice this time of year some fairways need work but overall for the money great choice
Beware of the fairways
Great course the fairways need a lot of work. Staff are super friendly
What You See is What You Get
Blackhawk Golf Club offers affordable rates ($52 weekends/$25 weekdays) for a no-frills course in Pflugerville. It's a good option for beginners or casual golfers due to its easy layout with mostly par 4s. However, the greens are consistently in poor condition, which can significantly impact your putting game.
Disappointed
patchy fairways with areas that were also muddy from excessive watering. Greens also in poor condition due to lack of attention. Very disappointed in the course condition. Also no water stations on course on such a hot day.
Waste of money and time
The course is in such bad conditions. Fairways do not exist. You pipe one down the middle and there is rocks and long grass and bare spots all over the course. Whoever the greens keeper is needs to be fired. For 60 bucks I can play so many other better courses.
Improved and looking good
I live nearby and play this course often. There has been some work done and the greens and fairways look the best they have in years. Still lots of work to do. But I’m very imp with how the course is looking this year. While the previous bad reviews I would say we’re deserved. I’ll say they have made quite an improvement this year.
