Blackhawk Golf Club
About
Blackhawk rests on the site of an old dairy farm, where the rolling terrain is suited for this links-style layout. This wide-open course features lots of water, loads of bunkers, and huge greens that are easy to three-putt if your approaches are off and you don’t have that feel for lag putting.
Each side has a punishing finishing hole. No. 9 is a monstrous par 4 that plays 464 yards. Off the tee, the narrow landing area is not conducive for the necessary booming drive, and the water causes problems in the fairway and around the green.
Hole 18 plays 430 yards, requiring a tee shot into the dogleg-right fairway that must thread two bodies of water.
The club prefers that you walk only on weekdays.
Getting there : Take I-35 north out of Austin, then exit FM 1825 east. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 685 and turn left. Drive another 2.5 miles to Kelly Ln. and turn right.

Black Hawk
I like this course because it’s laid back and 5miles from my house. My only complaint is its very wet around the greeens and the fairways need some work. The price should be 30.00 all day everyday for the shape the course is in. FYI no sand bunkers.
Still no Change
This course in it’s previous and current condition is sad , so much potential!
Terrible course conditions
The greens are weeds and ant piles than grass. The tee boxes are full of ant piles
Course could be better with improved maintenance.
The course is nicely laid out, but need a better geounds crew. Example: None of the bunkers have sand and are overgrown with grass. There are also stagnant holes of water; some smell horrible. It's a shame because I believe this could be much nicer facility; it just needs better management. All that said, I did enjoy the round, i would recommend and I will come back. They do have Veteran pricing which is nice.
Greens getting better!
Greens slowly improving. Still some rough patches on some, weeds on others, but these are as good as they’ve looked for 3 years and you can tell they’re improving, keep going y’all!
Good for a Casual Round
Course is in pretty rough shape. Greens and fairways are patchy and have dirt, sand spots, puddles, and crab grass on most of them making for very inconsistent surfaces. If you’re looking for a casual round, this will work, but expect to gain several extra strokes. I’m not sure how often it is the case, but there was also no water to drink around the course, and the drink cart was not selling water, which was pretty tough when it’s in the mid 90’s.
First time playing here
Everything was good. I was a single by myself and I played 18 holes in 31/2 hours. I only have two comments about the course. First they are not registered with the Texas Golf Assn. This means I cannot posted my score for handicap purposes. They were staff working on the course, however, and their were some greens with what I call crabgrass and irregular areas.
Fathers Day Family Round
Course was in rough shape and carts were very dated
Needs work
Good track BUT course in terrible shape. Need to shut down for 1 year and redo.
