Blackhawk Golf Club
About
Blackhawk rests on the site of an old dairy farm, where the rolling terrain is suited for this links-style layout. This wide-open course features lots of water, loads of bunkers, and huge greens that are easy to three-putt if your approaches are off and you don’t have that feel for lag putting.
Each side has a punishing finishing hole. No. 9 is a monstrous par 4 that plays 464 yards. Off the tee, the narrow landing area is not conducive for the necessary booming drive, and the water causes problems in the fairway and around the green.
Hole 18 plays 430 yards, requiring a tee shot into the dogleg-right fairway that must thread two bodies of water.
The club prefers that you walk only on weekdays.
Getting there : Take I-35 north out of Austin, then exit FM 1825 east. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 685 and turn left. Drive another 2.5 miles to Kelly Ln. and turn right.

Just Don't
This is the worst golf course I've ever played on. The greens have crabgrass all over them and you can't tell what's the fairway or rough. Don't waste your time here.
Guys. Wake up
It’s your fault this course is still in business. You guys see the 2 star yet still play for 40$ then write a bad review. If you se this do NOT play this course. Your welcome.
Not worth going
This was a poorly maintained course with bad management and customer service. They messed up my reservation (even though I had a written confirmation) with no apology and acted like I was in the wrong. The pace of play was terribly mismanaged (we were waiting 15 minutes on every hole) and the staff weren’t helpful or even particularly polite. despite having paid for 18 holes we quit after 9 because conditions were so unpleasant.
Better Management
This course needs to be maintenanced properly before it just goes bad. The greens are in the worse condition and this course use to be a good course. What happened?
Blackhawk
The layout of the course was good and it has potential to be a nice course. Unfortunately the fairways and greens were in very poor condition and the course looked neglected.. However, it was not expensive and the pace of play good so all things considered i enjojed my day out.
Blackhawk Not what it used to Be
Played the course on December 30, 2022 and it was in very poor condition. Greens and fairways were both in bad shape. clubhouse needs a major update and no beverage cart was seen on the course.
Terrible course
I feel like I have been robbed everytime I play this god awful course. Conditions are trash, greens are horrific and completely inconsistent, and it’s laughable that they actually charge $50 to play this course. This is hands down the lowest quality golf course in the entire greater Austin Metro. Just go to the range instead of playing this course. Fairways…. Trash. Rough… trash. Greens… trash. Not a single bunker on the course now because they filled them so you just get ridiculous conditions off the green.
Decent course
Have played this course handful of times. For the price it’s an okay play course is definitely under construction. Greens are needing attention like the rest of the course. Would be nice to have more port-a potty’s or an actual restroom throughout the course. Ball wash stations were empty and towels were gone.
Blackhawk Needs Work
Clubhouse and course in pretty bad shape. Greens are very rough and fairways not much better. Ownership needs to put some money into improvements.
Just Awful
I hate to give negative reviews but this course was in unplayable shape. No grass, just dirt and weeds. I guess I expected something else…. It was a total wasteland and a total waste of time. The staff was terrific and pace of play was good but the course wasn’t worth playing… i will try again in the spring but I will check to see if they have any grass before booking a tee time.
Is this really golf...?
The course has so much potential but is completely neglected.
I don't understand why the owners don't bring it up to standard, or sell it to Pflugerville and let it be a municipal course.
The bunkers are just grass now, which is okay, everything else is just awful - the fairways are hard-pan with some random grass here and there, and the greens are not greens in the golf sense of the word...they're just patches of grass, sand, and dirt.
No marshalls, no beverage cart, the driving range closed, snack bar closed.
Sad.
Play if you aren’t seious
I’ve played this course many times. Don’t play this course if you are looking for a decent place to play. Id only play here as a last resort or if it’s a fire deal mid afternoon during the weekdays. Let’s put it this way, there is no sand in the traps and some of the greens are like a topographical map. For the right price and the right mentality this is the place to go.
Better than the last I played.
All I can say is it was in better condition than the last time I played, it was so bad last time, I'm guessing it wasn't hard to do better. They still don't manage the groups off the 1st tee. It's pretty much a free for all. The group I played in with caught up with a group of 6(yes 6).
Thats all I could handle and quit and went home. I should've know better.
You get a lot for your money
For 25-35$ depending on time you get a nice 18 holes of gold which is amazing
Don’t call it a dog-track….it’s WORSE
Wow, I was shocked at the truly horrible conditions of this golf course…I’d call it a “dog track” but it would be insulting to both dogs & tracks. This place is much much worse. Fairways are weeds or just dirt, with deep cracks and ruts everywhere. The only grass on greens is crabgrass. And the only sand on the course isn’t in the bunkers, it’s covering the greens that are burned out. This was my first (and last) time to play Blackhawk….it’s amazing that they can charge $40 for this really awful course Sorry guys, but do better!
