Elks Runs is in spectacular shape! Greens were in the best shape they have been all year long. While chilly (in the 40's all day long,-and mostly cloudy), but the course played great. Kudos to the greens keeper's and GM for great course management.

I played Elks Run twice in 2020 and will definitely be back in the future. The course layout is definitely from a ‘professional’ viewpoint, yet is resilient and open enough for amateur play, without being daunting.

Things I did not like: Distance to get your cart from the parking lot is long and not clear as to the process and still not sure if there is a place to drop clubs off. Couple of the opening holes on the back nine are poorly laid out and not sure where to send shots even if you have played here before. And lastly, I had an ‘ace’ on #8 and was surprised that the course does not acknowledge ‘holes in one’, in any way. Have played at a lot of courses that at least post your name on the wall for a while and this club does nothing. The counter guy did not even offer “congratulations” when I mentioned it, after my round. In fact, he was extremely cool and classless every time I dealt with him.

But overall, I would play here again.

Course was in good shape. Pace of play was unbearable. Ranger on course said he could not understand why slow play. Well, clue #1 would be when you book tee times 9 minutes apart. 5hrs and 40 minutes for 18 holes on a weekday is inexcusable. More than a few people got frustrated and left after nine holes. Good course , but won't be back soon.

Course was very playable and in great shape. Loved the fast greens. Guy at counter was very courteous and service at bar was fantastic.

Layout, greens and fairways were all good. Great carts with gps. Very enjoyable round.

Super excited to play this Norman designed course, and overall must admit that Elks Run is fantastic golf property. The grounds, practice areas, clubhouse are among the very best in Cincy. Staff was very courteous and friendly. However, the course itself needs lots of work- especially the back 9. Didn't think too much of #1 sand bunker playing as ground under repair. Front 9 in much better condition than back 9. Hate to say the best part were thetee boxes, but many of the fairways are chewed up with dead spots, and overall the greens were beat up as well- lots of dead brown areas on greens, especially the back 9. Really enjoyed the layout and this course plays tight but fair from the Blues. Just a shame that the conditions were not up to par with the property of this caliber. Hopefully next time the conditions will be on same level as Legendary, Yankee Trace and Walden Ponds. Will be back next year to check it out.

I was traveling to OH (which I do many times a year). I have family there so we all went (my two brothers and my father) to go play this course. We are all pretty decent players (10 or so handicap) and play 50-100 times a year. We played on Sunday the 23rd and I've never in my life seen worse pin locations. They literally made the course not fun at all.

Every (and I mean every) pin was 3-5 feet towards some end of green and at the end of an up and down slope - or wherever the hardest spot was. A few of those a round is fine. That's challenging and makes some holes interesting. EVERY hole just makes it not fun at all.

For example, if you're 100 yards out and hit a perfect wedge shot and you're either going to be 10-20 feet short (where you have to do an up and down putt - and even if you make a great roll you're rolling off green) - and nothing you can do about it. I was thinking maybe they just start it out that way but by about the 5th or 6th hole it become extremely frustrating/made us dislike the round a lot. Not fun to play at all. The course literally had ZERO middle pin locations and every single pin location was in the most difficult spot of the green. This is a public golf course and we played on the weekend. No excuse for that (thank you for making my handicap go up at least I guess)......

When I travel my brothers and I play probably 20 rounds a year in the Cincy area. We won't play this course again. There's a course nearby that is way more normal, challenging, and rewarding if you play good golf. I did like that this course had a pretty good layout/some interesting holes (where you have to be strategic), but then it is immediately ruined by having the most dumb pin locations I've ever seen over a 18 hole course.
