About
Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Apollo Beach Golf Club features large, well- bunkered greens and long tee boxes with generous fairways. The course is designed around many small lakes and inlets that dominate the landscape, bringing water into play on every hole. One trip around the layout and you will know that there are all sorts of unseen challenges awaiting golfers of all skill levels. The snack bar/restaurant offers home cooked breakfasts and lunches featuring specials daily.

Love the course design! You can see the talent of the designer on every hole - Robert Trent Jones. The course has fallen into slight disrepair over the years but love the design! A definite ‘must play’!’

Greens in good shape, greens rolling pretty true, not to fast or slow. Fairway not bad at all.

It's a decent be course. It could definitely use some TLC. It is wide open which is great for inexperienced golfers.

Fairways in pretty good shape, greens were rolling at a got pace. All in all pretty good.

been a while
It has been over a decade since I've Played Apollo Beach.
Used to several times a month.
I got a great deal on Golf now and thought lets go.
I was paired up with a great group of gentlemen.
Some of the holes came back to me on how to get around but the free yardage book was a great help.
Greens rolled true and were in OK shape over the course.
I was lucky enough to only hit one bunker because several if not all looked suspect.
Fairways and approach areas were spotty and wet even though there has been no real rain in weeks.
If too wet just find nearest relief.
I used to love this track and may venture up again if time permits.
Bunker replenishment and bridge and cart path repairs are expensive and I hope they are able to find the funds.
Orinthologists would love the abundance and variance of species on most every hole.

Wet conditions
Although course had experienced heavy rain the day before greens were in great condition.

I'll be back
This was my first time to play here on a recommendation of another golfer and I wasn't disappointed. Yes there were some weak spots on the greens and the sand bunkers were so-so but not enough to discourage coming back. The staff were friendly enough and the restaurant was very limited on available food items so don't expect much more than a hotdog or sandwich. Overall the course was fun to play and I'll be back.

Shouldn’t be open
I have played this course a few times this year. The last time I payed they should not have been open. Back nine was closed and 2 holes on the front were shortened to a par 3. That’s the kind of stuff they should tell you before taking your money.

Construction & Slow Play
The staff were trying to do their job and it's not their fault but the bridge leading to the first tee was destroyed, but it was inconvenient nonetheless. The range was closed so I couldn't warm up. When I asked about any chipping and putting green the pro shop attendant simply didn't answer. Cart path only on certain holes due to weather which is to be expected. I was a single golfer. I wasn't paired up with anyone and none of the groups ahead would let me play through so my round took 4+ hrs when it should have been 3. Where is the ranger? Why would you let me play behind a group of 11 people who are in a league? It was a frustrating day.
Felt misled
After checking in and getting cart we were told that the course was reversed (10th tee to start) due to a bridge failure. Not too bad but now the 1st was the tenth and the tee box was moved all the way down the fairway to about 180yds out. They could have simply redirected traffic or instructed players to wait until the tee was clear before approaching.
The fairway on the 9th (our 18th) was non existent. It looked as though a bulldozer had driven all over it. Again, not forewarned so the hole played terribly.
The greens were true, but REALLY slow. So many putts came up short it was frustrating. And the greens had fringes that were 10 feet wide. Unfortunately all the members parked their cart on these fringes. How ridiculous !!!!
Not worth the effort of driving there and finding this "back street" club.

Chuck the starter was a rude and slightly incompetent, I arrived as a single and he wouldn’t allow me to have a cart. He stated “Golf Now only reserves you a tee time and half a cart, you’ll have to wait for someone to somehow up”. It was dead I sat in the pro shop for 40 minutes until a random single off the street came in and they allowed me to grab a cart.
We truly apologize for any poor experience on behalf of our staff during your recent visit, as well as for any misunderstanding with your reservation. Your comments have been shared appropriately, but if you could contact our pro shop staff at your convenience, we would be happy to address any concerns with you directly. What great shape the greens are in!
With the rain we've had we were concerned, but the course is in great shape and the greens are putting very true to the hole.
Summer rates are the best value around as well.

Great Florida Public Course
I fly to Florida several times a year to visit family and play golf. Many public courses in Florida seem to do just enough maintenance to just survive. Apollo Beach was a fantastic surprise. Course was in great condition. Greens were consistent and roll was true. Staff was friendly, even greenskeepers pulled machines out of way and waved as we passed. Definitely will be returning to play soon. Best public course I’ve played in years.

Nice layout, conditions inconsistent
I’ve played this course several times and decided to give it a chance again, only because I got a hot deal on GolfNow for $22. For the full price this course charges ($40-$50), I would never play here. The fairways are patchy and the bunkers are never raked after rain, leaving hard and packed mud. Drainage on the course is also terrible, which could lead to a ball sitting in a puddle in or near the fairway. When I played yesterday, the greens were being grown out after aeration and were incredibly slow. When cut, the greens could be very nice. It was just frustrating to play on such a long cut, as it made putts roll very bumpy. Layout is great, but course conditions and price are what hold this course back from being good value.
