About
Ironwood Golf Club has the distinction of being named one of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play." Owned by the city of Gainesville, this popular course hosts more than 50 tournaments year. The course winds through a scenic landscape covered with century-old pines and sparkling lakes. Don't be surprised if you're joined by the wildlife that calls the course home, which includes deer and wild turkeys. The layout will keep you guessing with interesting twists and turns. The elevated greens have dramatic drops from front to back, making them a challenge to read. There are strategically placed bunkers throughout Ironwood Golf Club, as well as thick rough along the fairways. The obstacles combined with some tricky doglegs will make you think twice about swinging the driver too freely. Strategy, not strength, is the key to doing well on this course.

Always Impressive
Very pleased with this beautiful course and it's exceptional staff. My fiance and I have even chosen Ironwood's business center as the venue for our wedding in September, so Ironwood will always have a special place in our hearts. Love what these folks are doing. Keep up the awesome work!

Great Public Course
The staff was very friendly, and the course was in good condition considering the lack of rain over the past month. Overall a great value ! I would recommend this course to anyone in tbr Gainesville area.

Ironwood
Highs: staff is friendliest of any course anywhere, pace of play was whatever we wanted, scenic with wild turkeys on hole 17. Lows: greens we're slow and a little bumpy from areating 2 weeks ago. Overall I recommend and give 3/5 stars.

Awesome course!
All around a beautiful course where you can really connect with nature. I’ve played most courses around Gainesville and Jacksonville/ St. Augustine and Ironwood is around the top. Well kept all around and the past three times I have gone I’ve seen some cool wildlife along the course.

Greens and fairways are good. Most of the teeboxes are good. Bunkers need work. Pace of play was slow, but we expected that on Easter Sunday, without a cloud in the sky.
The staff (including the helpful starter) couldn't have been nicer.

A Great Day
We are just casual golfers but do enjoy playing this course. The condition of the course certainly satisfies us, all staff are friendly and helpful, and the pace of play was great - the course can sometimes get busy, but the Rangers will check and keep things moving. Will definitely come back to this course the next time we are in this area. Thank you!

Lovely treed course.
Very enjoyable day, the course is in pretty good shape, a couple of the greens have some bare spots on them, and are very slow. The staff is very friendly and the pace of play is excellent, we will be back.

Ironwood is still worthy of the name Ironweed, but pace was great
Today was a perfect day for playing golf and my son and I decided to play Ironwood. We played 18 holes in 2.5 hours (which was awesome) and found the course to be worth the $18.50 green fees offered by GolfNow. Sadly the weeds and the condition of the greens were disappointing, but that has always been the case at Ironweed. The sand trap that I was in on #10 had nice fluffy sand that allowed me to get up and down for a par. The turkeys were out enjoying the weather and are always fun to watch how unavailable they are, especially since this during hunter no season for turkeys.

Fun course
An interesting layout, lots of trees, every hole is distinct, no houses on the course, which is a really nice change.
The course is generally in good shape , some of the greens seem a little stressed, and they are quite slow, which took a little time to get used to. We are visiting the area from Canada and will definitely play here again, very good value.

Mature scenic and great value.
So much nicer to play on a mature course set amoungst wonderful trees like Ironwood, than surrounded by new housing and freeways like many newer courses are.
Its great value for money and the staff were super helpful.

Slow greens
Tight course, nice staff. Fairways are having mole issues or something. Bunkers good condition. Greens are ridiculously slow.
