Slow Play
I've played at Prince William several times and Sunday was very slow with no evidence that the course employed any one monitoring the pace of play. I noticed several golfers calling it a day before hitting the 3rd hole and after finishing our nine holes, I found that someone hit a golf ball from the 18th hole into the back of the window of my truck. Naturally no one left a message after damaging my vehicle. I've included a picture of the damage.
My wife and I will be playing elsewhere in the near future.
Poor management
Upon arrival at the course, staff let me know they have run out of power carts, and I would have to wait until carts become available.
I ended up waiting an hour for a cart. Meanwhile, they were sending out everyone with push carts (including folks with later tee times). So, with an hour full of group of walkers, the pace of play was just terrible. I called in for the marshal, but that didn't help much.
After four hours on the field, we did not get to finish 15th hole.
Course layout
This is one of my favorite courses around. The course layout is well set for my golf skill. The course always well maintained. Particularly green undulation and speed are perfect to me. I always enjoy this course all year round.
Good but slow
The greens were firm and fast but my playing partners were not. I’d have to give this a try again with a different group . Tee boxes were a bit beat up but really although my rating was not great, I might give it a try again.
Fair price for what the course offers
This by far is not the best course in the area, but it’s not bad for $33. Fairways are decent, but the tee boxes are mostly dead and brown grass. Greens were incredibly fast today, ans the bunkers were completely flooded out. Pace of play has been atrocious the last two times I have played here because the course doesn’t seem to care about groups of 6 golfers playing together. The bathrooms are the most disgusting I have ever seen in my life. Staff is hit or miss, since sometimes they are amazing, and other times they are just about average. Overall, the course is fun and completely WIDE OPEN, and even if you slice a driver off the tee, chances are, you’re still on a fairway two holes over.
