Faldo at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge Resort
About
Faldo Championship Course at the Wildfire Golf Club measures as long as 6,846 yards, depending on which tees you're shooting from, and lies on 174 acres and features some differences from the average desert-themed golf courses. Faldo offers abundant fairways, big bentgrass greens and tee boxes, as well as the golf course's neighboring mountains, century-old saguaro cacti and 106 sand bunkers - which remind golfers of Aussie sand-belt golf courses, which gives it a magnificent locale for golfers.
Wildfire Golf Club is much-feted: When the Faldo Championship Course opened, the Arizona Republic selected hole No. 2 among the valley's 18 best. The golf course received recognition among the 2006 Travel & Leisure Golf's "World's Best Golf Resorts" for family getaways and in the 2006 Conde Nast Traveler rundown of the "Top 100 Golf Resorts in North America." These are in addition to the Gold Tee Award from Meetings & Conventions Magazine.

Golfer Reviews
Bunkers were aweful
Short and sweet review.
Greens 3/5… slow and furry
Tee boxes 4/5
Fairways 4/5
Bunkers 1/5 hard, unraked washed out
Staff was great, course was ok, but I dropped 600$ for two players. Not worth the money.
Will try elsewhere.
Friendly and professional staff. They even got us out a couple hours early.
Good overall experience
Range is great, staff friendly, pace of play excellent.
This is a solid course. Several short holes that still require accuracy of your tee shot and approach. If you want to bomb it all day it’s not for you, but there are holes to let it go. It’s still a test and you’ll likely use every club in your bag. Course was in good condition, but the bunkers were not (hence my lower rating). Don’t know of we just got lucky, or they truly manage pace of play, but 4 hours on a Friday will have me coming back.
Great service in the bar after.
great experience
first time playing the course. course was in great condition. staff were nice and helpful.
would play the course again and recommend it to friends.
Faldo course
I was disappointed that upon check in , I was informed that it was cart path only… this should be noted or at least told to the customer. I don’t have an issue walking a little more but it should be communicated. You don’t know until the cart shuts down entering the fairway on the first hole… disappointing to say the least
I’d Play it again and again!
I love the Faldo course. Great conditions except for the traps. Seeing as though the course is known for its multitude of traps the poorer conditioning comes into play more often. Still a great experience.
Faldo Course Review
The tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in great shape. However, the sand traps need additional sand. They were hard pan and not really fair play.
Challenging
The course was in great shape, very challenging, trying to stay out of the bunkers. Making the red decisions on this course is the key to success. Great round.
Course is well designed
I enjoy this course over palmer. Makes you think to where your hitting your shot. Not just a blast and pray.
The t boxes fit any handicap. This is my go to course for consistent fairways and greens. Definitely a challenge for most of the courses in the valley. Wish the had a nice low twilight rate. having the price so high especially when it a wide open T sheet to me sounds counter-intuitive. staff and starter are great.
Nice day on the links
This course never disappoints , in fact it is one of my favorites in the valley . The course is well maintained . The greens are a little slower than I like , but still firm and true . Bunker maintenance is currently in progress , so stay out of them . The staff is awesome … a big shoot out to the cart girl .. she was incredible . I would highly recommend this course for a relaxing day on the links
Amazing course and staff!
I played with my son and it was an absolute blast! The pro shop was helpful, cart people were great, beverage cart was fantastic with everything from hot dogs to gatorade or anything else you could want alcohol wise. Everyone was helpful and very welcoming!
