About

Faldo Championship Course at the Wildfire Golf Club measures as long as 6,846 yards, depending on which tees you're shooting from, and lies on 174 acres and features some differences from the average desert-themed golf courses. Faldo offers abundant fairways, big bentgrass greens and tee boxes, as well as the golf course's neighboring mountains, century-old saguaro cacti and 106 sand bunkers - which remind golfers of Aussie sand-belt golf courses, which gives it a magnificent locale for golfers.

Wildfire Golf Club is much-feted: When the Faldo Championship Course opened, the Arizona Republic selected hole No. 2 among the valley's 18 best. The golf course received recognition among the 2006 Travel & Leisure Golf's "World's Best Golf Resorts" for family getaways and in the 2006 Conde Nast Traveler rundown of the "Top 100 Golf Resorts in North America." These are in addition to the Gold Tee Award from Meetings & Conventions Magazine.

A good resort course. Friendly staff and decent pace of play. Course was in OK condition, greens were excellent, although a little on the slow side, but overall not as good as I expect for a $135- $150 per round course.

Upscale beauty

It doesn’t get much better. Excellent greens, lots of bunkers and variations in the layouts to keep you on your toes. You must be mindful of distances off the tee to avoid trouble, and to the extend it’s possible, avoid those fairway traps. All the amenities you want, great range, practice green right before the first tee so you can get the feel for the speed right before your round.

Lush fairways, greens roll true, bunkers packed sand. Overall the course is in excellent condition. Staff very helpful and friendly. Give the Faldo course a play. You will be pleased.

Course great / Staff lousy

Wildfire feels Big! Very spacious and wide fairways. The greens were okay. Great design and many many bunkers with desert sand which makes them a very different sand shot.

The signage and directions to get to the course and even the bag drop are illogical and at best confusing. The staff member (Turner) was at best dismissive both coming in and leaving. He need management attention to improve his customer service and attitude towards them.

Best course I've played on in scottsdale! Staff was extremely friendly and a very pleasant. Pay some play was excellent the greens were excellent the fairways were gorgeous in the scenery was beautiful. The swimming pool with lots of bikinis was extremely scenic, too. ;-)
