Good but pace of play is a problem
Teeing off at 2 pm on a Wednesday should not result in a 4 hour 40 minute round!
Slow Golf
My son and I drove out to Crown Park thinking we would get away from crowded courses. That was not the case. It took well over 4 hours to complete 18 holes. As well as I could tell, there were no marshals trying to monitor pace of play. There was also a guy walking with 18 dogs, which I thought was very weird.
Hurricane Relief
Considering a hurricane just blew through the course was in good shape
Awesome Course
An awesome experience. Course conditions were absolutely perfect. Staff was friendly and professional. Will definitely return
Not a walking course
Enjoyed the round fairway and tee boxes in great shape, but greens still showing signs from aeration , but it has to be done, had a nice time and would go back again
Horrible Greens
I have played here a half a dozen times and this is the worst greens I’ve ever encountered. Granted I have never played September golf in North Myrtle Beach so I understand aeration and other techniques are necessary to keep the greens in top shape. There should be a reduced rate when the greens are in as bad as shape as they were today
Excruciating slow play
Only real negative was the extremely slow play, 3 hours to play the front 9. Finally quit after 11 holes. Caused by a large outing.
Otherwise I thought the course was in pretty good shape. The greens putted remarkably well considering they were punched out about 2 weeks ago just a little slow on the uphill putts. Would definitely play the course again as long as there is not an outing.
Crown Park
WOW! CROWN PARK's fairways, rough and tee boxes have finally arrived and are excellent! Greens have just been airiated and in 2 weeks Crown Park will be 100% ......Fabulous and Thank You!
Surprised
For the price of a round of golf this is certainly great value for money. It is a little far from Myrtle Beach but worth the drive. You need to be straight off the tee otherwise trouble awaits and there is a very picturesque par 3 finish. We got stuck behind a very slow 4 ball at the turn who refused to let us through. They took 25 minutes to play the 10th hole so we had to bypass them. Otherwise a great experience and will be playing there again.
A fair and challenging layout. Very welcoming staff,from cart guy, to registration, to the snack shop. Gets a very high recommdation for cost and enjoyment.
