About

The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.

This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Hard to beat

Played as a twosome in three hours. The condition of the course is fantastic, with the greens being a little slower than normal. However, they were full and holding very well. The fairways were in great shape, along with the tees. The course is a fun layout that requires a lot of shot placement and minimal drivers off the tees. There are a lot of penalty areas that are in play throughout. It is a very enjoyable course with fewer crowds compared to the courses on the strand.

Bang for your buck!

We loved the price and the course layout. The fairways place an emphasis on accuracy or sand, water and woods will wear you out. Gnats are a serious nuisance, so take all precautions or they’ll carry you off.

Very enjoyable course. Excellent condition. The course requires you to work the ball both ways off the tee. Distance control to some of the doglegs is key.. Greens were smooth and true. Definitely worth a return visit.

What a fantastic find and my first time playing this course. The course was in fantastic shape and the greens were super fast but fair.
