The Duke at Rancho El Dorado

I like the layout of this course but some of the greens need work and the rough needs to be repaired. I understand desert courses suffer more off fairways than non desert courses, lots of ruts is my biggest complaints. Wish golf courses out here could do something to eliminate these prairie dogs which may be cute but are property destroying rodents.

Wide fairways on all holes. Fairways needed some TLC as there are lots of dry patches, but the color of the grass didn't affect my play. Greens in good condition, were running mod-fast. Pace was somewhat slow only due to the dudes ahead of us playing slow. They came by to speed them up. Pace didn't bother me though.

Decent if unmemorable layout. Slick but not fast greens, if that makes sense. Okay fairway conditions but looks like it might get worse in the summer. Typical desert muni course. Not bad not particularly good. Good value but play Southern Dunes if you're just visiting. This is more of a locals retirement community course, though there's still plenty of length.

Our foursome played behind a twosome and then a single. We kept up just that the single often hit two balls and probably should have played with the twosome i. Front of him. Course was in good shape and a pleasure to play. Greens pitted well.

Great course. Spacious layout. Beautiful views. Always a good time.

I drove an hour, though I've played here before its been a while and once I got there I remember it well, I love the course it really rewards good shots, greens were perfect speed and not bumpy at all. We really enjoyed our round. KC was very welcoming and kept us updated on our tee off, that is a good kid, not too many like him out there.

Had a great time at the course. Breakfast burrito was awesome for 5 good dollars. Fairways huge still missed them. Par 3's long. Great course. Will play again

The fairways and greens seemed a little harder and faster than previous times I've played here so that brought the difficulty up a little. Did a good job of staying out of the desert today and was consistently rewarded with grass to hit from. Though I did see a few bare patches I felt the course was in reasonably good shape at this price point. The greens were rolling smooth and true. I have always enjoyed the layout every time I've played it. The pace was great on the front then, for whatever reason, the back took nearly 3 hours. I was in no rush so I didn't let it bother me but I know some folks get frustrated with waiting. All in all, I played well and had a great time.

The Duke is laid back, quiet and set in a residential community. Spread out nicely but some of the tee boxes were not marked and/or laid out properly.

Overall good course. Will definitely play again.

It’s always fun to get out with friends and play a round of golf

Overall not horrible, but the fairways are hard and seem to be getting harder. Also lots of dry, dead areas in the fairways. Greens are OK. A bit hard but putt ok. Around the greens are good. Wish the fairways were like around the greens. Driving range not good. Grass is butchered up. Only game in town so oh well.

Nice course average difficulty. Greens reasonably fast. Ruffs a bit ruff to many bare spots no grass.it was a very windy day played a couple over hdcp.

The pace of play was painfully slow. No Ranger. It took 2 1/2 hours to play the front nine. It got worse on the back. We were on pace for over a 5 hour round. My group decided to leave when we started seeing two groups waiting on the tees.

First couple of Greens were in good shape. All other after that went downhill fast. Fairways were thin and dry. Some areas were dead. We were very disappointed after we had heard this was such a good course. We won't be back.

Quick greens.... But a few greens need some work. Fun long course.
