Bear Creek Golf Complex - Cub Course

About
The Bear Creek Golf Complex offers two golf courses, one championship length course and one executive length course, the Cub Course. This sporty course is ideal for beginners and families. Like its sister course, the Bear Course, there are rolling fairways and well-manicured greens that have unique swales and collection areas. The design features five par 4s and the rest are par 3s, all of which vary in length. A round of golf on the Cub Course can be completed in less than three hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex also boasts several practice facilities including a lighted driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Overpriced and Overrated
First of all when I clicked on the course on Golf Now app it said the course was a par 71. When we arrived at the course they put us on the executive course. There were three of us so the starter told us he was giving us a fourth player. When I asked the starter if the fourth had his own card, he asked why. I replied that I didn’t know the individual and I was concerned about COVID. He told me I wasn’t very smart making a statement like that, rather than argue with him I waited to see who the fourth player was. It ended up being a guy walking. The starter was rude and ignorant with his comments. When we finished playing I went back on the app to see why we were put on the cub course. What I found out was even though I selected the par 71 course the app then put me on the cub course. I didn’t notice that because I was too busy looking at all the charges associated with the booking. I think the app should have both courses on their own so as to not add to the confusion. Aside from that the course was worth about half of what we paid.
Enjoyed this course!
As, always, pace of play was good, staff courteous and greens challenging.
Course is bad.
The rough is nothing but hard packed dormant grass, there is very little grass in the fairways and the greens were bad. I have played this course many times in the last 5 years and this is the worse that I have seen it.
Waist of money.
No cart paths. No signage anywhere. And the ones that stated the hole number were faded hard and covered in bird crap. Illegible. Dead broken trees everywhere. Tee off boxes were horrible. Completely chunked to death. Could stand flat at any one of them. Most of the course including the greens were hard as cement. So many more things. But I’m just gonna say it was probably the top 2 worst golf experience in my life. And that course will never see another dollar from my pocket. That I’ll guarantee. Mid as well golfed in a parking lot.
Nice Beginner Course
Nice people and staff. Parking was pretty tight, greens we’re pretty hard and fast but challenging. I would play here again.
Fun executive course
Fun and challenging...on the front nine they had five players together...it slowed things down quite a bit
Greens
The greens appeared to have been worked on and were a little bumpy, in some cases it helped my putting
great little course.
Always nice to play for short game. greens are a little rough .
Played the Cub course
Came with two adults and a child. Nobody was rushing us and we had a tone of fun. Not many hazards pretty easy course to play definitely recommend.
Worst conditions in AZ, still fine for kids
I only paid $16 for 18 holes, but that's about the max anyone should pay for this. The greenskeeper has completely lost the course. The greens are half dirt. Fairways and tees are in rough shape. If you're a golfer, you'll be disappointed unless you're just taking the kids out to whack it around for an afternoon in which case this still fits the bill.
Ok
We played the cub course that was fun...It was ok but finding next tee was confusing especially on back....Ithe holes are challenging and nice mix... if you are interested in a short executive course it is fun
Okay for beginners or working on your iron shots. Makes you feel better about your game, score wise.
Course needs a lot of love. Greens are in rough shape, bathrooms are rough and big muddy ditches run along side the tee boxes. Tee boxes are in nice shape, but heavily used. The City of Chandler can and should do better.
